Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index Dear Shree, Please read my post Three Types of Karma - Important to understand Vedanta. However much we may pray for, we will have to live till our prarabhdha karmas are exhausted!! That is only in God's hands. Love, Chithra.
Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index Dear Chith my late FIL used to recite this sloka everyday towards the end of his puja and he got exactly the same. I had forgotten the last lines, thanks for posting. Thank you Shree for requesting.
Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index Dear Usha, All that I can say is he was blessed by God and had a peaceful end. His prayer was answered! Love, Chithra.

Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index dear maami, i got a doubt from the sloka what u gave for anayasa maram can u clarify this word in the last line. i tried to translate thru google in sanskrit and found 4 options just wanted to know which one is right. it is for the word thvaya. hope u know sanskrit. थवय or थ्वय or थ्वया or त्वया or थ्वाय am giving the link thru which i tried to translate http://www.tamilcube.com/translate/sanskrit.aspx
Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index Dear Sree, It is this त्वया and the meaning is 'in you'. The last sentence (thvaya bhakthim achanchalam) full meaning goes like this - I should have unwavering devotion in you (ie to shiva - which is given in previous line as shambo). Sorry for butting in mami, thought I can clarify it since I understood the meaning. Radhi
Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index hi radhi, thanx for the clarification. it was so nice to know the meaning. can u post the full meaning of the sloka if possible.
Re: Check here - the Shlokas Index Dear Sree, Anaayesaena maraNam Vinaa dhainyaena jeevanam Daehi mae Kripayaa shambho Thvaya bhakthim achanchalam. This is a prayer to Shiva, requesting him to give death without trouble or pain (first line) , life without poverty (second line) , grant me shambo, out of compassion (or kripai ) (third line) , unwavering devotion in you (last line) .
