    Hey Aarushi,

Its nice to meet a Wodehouse fan .. for reasons that I just cannot fathom I dont come across too many :idontgetit: !!

Maybe you can help me with this .. I've been looking for a Wodehouse omnibus called The Theatre Omnibus. I've been searching for about 5 years now with no success. Please let me know if you have seen this book anywhere ..

    Thanks!
    Priya.

I am a huge wodehouse fan too. I have read all of the Bertie and Jeeves series. I have them on CD too. I can't find more of his books in the libraries here. Does it have anything do with him being British. (But he later did become a US citizen).

    Hi Manjula,

Great idea about books. I am also an avid reader. I read whatever i can lay my hands on. "The inheritance of loss" by Kiran Desai is a great book. I also love reading classics, especially Daphne du Maurier. "The kings general" by her is wonderful.
Books are the best buddies you can have.

    Have a great time reading.....

    Qudsia.

    Hi everybody,

Has anybody read Ruskin Bond? There are so many of his compilations in Rupa publications. The stories written by him in Himalayan Tales are beautiful. Great books...
"The prisoner of zenda" was written years ago but its worth reading.

    happy reading..

    Qudsia.

I see there are so many Wodehouse fans - brings back memories when I used to read them. Unless I buy them here, I do not find them in the library:-( . I should buy them when I go to India next time.

Quidsia - I am reading "The inheritance of loss" - very well written. How about du Maurier's "Rebecca"? That was a great book as well. I saw the movie and it is wonderful.

This is a great thread - I am making a list of all the books that I have not read from recommendations so that I can start reading them soon. Thanks ladies!

    Hi Priya,

    I agree..I don't come across many P.G.Wodehouse lovers here also...Its rather curious...

I'll check out the Theater Omnibus in my local library here..but most probably it won't be there...I have yet to see a PGW there...:-(

Maybe in my next India trip, I can search for it...:)

    Take care,
    Aarushi

I also thought that his being British could be a reason why I can't find him in bookstores..I also don't find any End Blyton's (even in the libraries)...or even any Asterix or Tintin in the comics section...

However if you are interested in downloading some books or comics, there are a few available online...in fact I found quite a few PGW stories online available for download.

Recently I also downloaded a TON of Phantom, Mandrake, Bahadur comics (brings back so many memories...*sigh*) etc..In case you are interested, pm me and I can send a CD of the entire thing to you...:-D

Incidentally, I forgot to mention another romantic fiction author that I absolutely adore... Georgette Heyer! She is a queen of historical romance...My favorite is Devil's cub and These Old Shades...

    Happy reading...

    Aarushi
