Constipation & Gastric problems during pregnancy

    Vani,
    Never strain your bowel movement. Go only when you can. If you strain you might end up getting hamerrohoids..Instead include lots of fresh fruits and water in your diet. Sometimes milk at bed time might be the cause. So try to drink milk earlier in the evening rather than at bed time. Eat high fiber fruits and leafy vegetables. Make a point to drink atleast 2-3 ltrs of water everyday. If you can get prune juice, that's the best. It helps a lot in releiving constipation.
    If the problem persists then take a stool softener.

    Water,Spinach,banana,fruits would help with the constipation.If you are still having that,try talking to your doctor and have stool softners like metamucil which has fiber content.

    Hi vani,
    As other IL's told, it is quite common during pregnancy period. Drink as much water as you can and eat fibrous food like french beans,drumstick and also leefy vegetables in your food. So soon you will be relieved.
    Take care, if the pain is more, you can consult your gynic for any medication.

    bad constipation-need help

    Hi
    I have been suffering from constipation for the last few days now.. am in my 14th week and didnt have this problem even when I had worst morning sickness.. am eating banana everyday and also fruits like apple and guava. anybody can tell me some ideas on what to do?
    my gyn is out of town and wont be back for another week..

    any help/suggestion appreciated!!!

    constipations is common problem in pregenancy . you better eat pears, or pears juice, flax seeds powder or flax seeds ( available in walgreens or any pharmacy stores)flax seeds you may mix in yoplait or any other food. its little bit nutty flavour. try to eat daily 2 tsps .

    Have raisins and dates... you can also soak raisins in water and have them next morning. It helps! Also have a cup of warm water before going to bed and first thing in morning. And lots of water...
    Avoid apples as they are used for opposite reason - diarrhoea

    You can try Prune fruit/ juice...Actually the fruit contains full of fiber and it is best to have it for constipation. My Doc advised to take that, you can give it a try :thumbsup

    Hai,
    This is one old tip

    Guess you know kaddi patta/curry leaf/kari vepilai . Take the twigs(2 or 3)alone and boil in a cup of water . let it boil till water quantity is half the cup . let it cool till it is warm enough to drink. Take this everyday morning . My friend used to have it from the start of the pregnancy itself to prevent constipation in later stages.

    hi

    i am in my 19th week....have severe constipation for the past one week....what shal i do?? any natural remedies?? and..will constipation affect the baby in any way???
