    Hi All,

When was the first time u went leaving ur LittleOne(LO) with someone else?...definitely it would have been a very difficult situation for a mother. The reasons mostly would have been due to urgency or something critical which made u take such a painful decision.

How was your first time experience?..How did u and ur LO face the situation? and How did u feel when u saw ur LO after u returned back?..Any steps ur took such that ur LO felt a little better even wen u were away?..How long were u away from ur LO?

From my side,i have never faced any situation like that till now(touchwood) but would generally like to know from other mommies...how they handled such a situation??

It need not be just from mommies, maybe u can also say how u felt when u were away from your mother for the first time...

Swaran, i left my first one for the first time with both grannies when he was 11 months old to join a company in chennai while my family joined me 15 days later. It was very tough for me.But DS was ok since he was in safe hands. When i saw DS after 15 days , i was extremely emotional. After that episode DS was away at my parent's two-three times. That was not so tough on me.
As long as you know your LO is safe in reliable hands, you dont need to worry. But yes, no mom will be celebrating this seperation. It causes guilt.but anxiety can be avoided.

    Nice thread Swarna.

Thank God, I have not faced such a situation till today.

But after 45th day of my delivery, I had to join back to office. So I left my daughter at home and went to work. Thats it.

Swaran it took me a week to reach office, I would get back from the middle of the route with anxiety cries, finally my DH dropped me to the office assuring me alls well and henceforth I took the leap.

Another breathless and suffocating moment I felt was when I first left them in a daycare i,e. Day1 , I could hear the imaginary cries 1/2 km from office. I had visited this daycare several times before dropping.

These were the 2 times when I really felt the need of a oxygen pump :bonk..

I went a few times for my doc appts when dd was 3 weeks old, but my mom or DH took care of her. Didn't feel bad at all. The first bad feeling was when I went shopping for dd by myself and left her with DH, she was 2 months old and it was very cold that day and I needed to buy warm clothes for her. When I was in the mall and saw any little child crying, I would think dd might be crying and I would call DH to check on her. Needless to say I couldn't shop. This happened a few times and finally I realized, this way I was unable to shop and also irritated DH, so got to terms with it. Also first day when I left her in day care for 3 hours, I came home and cried a lot.
