Re: krishna shlokams Dear Chitramadam and Kb: Celebrated krishnashtami pooja yesterday. because friends came over I couldn't do it elaborately. however I chanted few krishna slogas and prepared palpayasam. "Anjana sreedhara charu moorthe..." and kanikanum neram.. are two of them I chanted. read narayaneeyam too. went to a devi temple in the evening and joined a discourse for some time. had to head back to home because I need to get up in the morning for work. I stayed awake until midnight. hope krishna understands.. chitra madam: thank you very much for pouring your knowledge to all of us. thanks kb for creating pdf. May be many ILs celebrated krishnashtami much more elaborately. I would like to hear from others..
Re: krishna shlokams Dear Epics MoLae! Do not ever think, elaborate puja is necessary - no, not at all ! You did think of Krishna, chanted a few shlokas & perhaps also offered a naivedya. That pleases K. Gita says pathram pushpam phalam thoyam yO mae bhakthyaa prayachchathi thadaham bhakthyupahrutha mashnaami prayathaathmanah 9.26 Whoso with devotion offers Me, aleaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I enjoy what has been thus offered with devotion by that pure-hearted worshipper. So says Krishna ! Love, Chithra.
Re: krishna shlokams Dear Chitramadam: Thanks for being there. Your posting made me feel better. Always I want to spend more time for chanting slogas and doing poojas. However, most of the time, time is limited because of family responsibilities. I should have written milk gheer instead of 'palpayasam' which is considered as a favorite prasad for krishna in kerala. Guruvayoor temple "palpayasam' is famous. "Ambalapuzha palpayasam" is even more well known in kerala. When you talk about "Ambalapuzha (which is a place name) palpayasam" that means the temple prasad. I offered fruits and kalkanda (solid sugar pieces) also to krishna yesterday. Thanks for posting krishna slogas. I will try to memmorise and chant them on thursdays.

Reciting slokas for the well being of our beloved? Hi, Is there any specific sloka which we can chant for the well being of our beloved one's,like for our parent's,spouse and kid? I went through the sloka index and found the Dhanvanthri sloka, but I guess it is for one's own health..! I understand that prayer necessarily does'nt mean that u have to learn the specific sloka to get god's blessing. If our mind and heart is pure and full of bhakti and devotion God will definitely listen to us. But when we recite a sloka we also get a satisfaction and feel something good will definitely happen and we feel stronger in mind and heart! My little one is not keeping well.My mother also has some health issues. So pls can someone tell me which sloka can be recited for this purpose! Love, Jaya
