This peppy opening theme from FRIENDS has always been one of my favourite tunes to hum.

Yes, no shaman or psychic told me that life was gonna be this way !

I was a pretty confused kid while growing up.Cusiosity tempered with ultramundane thoughts made a perfect recipe for restless mind of this Cheshire kitten:crazy.I used to love History and English a lot, and my classmates used to abhor them wondering how could anyone love them let alone find them interesting.

I decided that I was gonna become an archaelogist at the age of eight, disintering lost tombs and unearthing antediluvian civilization -when others were dreaming of clinching patents.

With the passage of time, my ambition leaped higher from the bowels of earth to the open arms of the skies, to become a air-hostess.Alas ! A freak accident made me realize that I have marred my dreams with a scar.

Paranormal investigator, hieroglyphics scholar, museum curator and the list is innumerable.:spin

What I am today is nothing short of a fiasco to the 10-year old who wanted to be an astronomer, failure to the 15-year old who wanted to be a talk-show hostess, and disappointment to the 20-year old who wanted to be a FBI agent.

BUT I have never found myself at such opalescent peace after all these years.I love what I am today and am passionate about where I stand today. It might not be what I wanted to do since I started dreaming, but has always been where I wanted to be since seeing reality.

We often wonder how would life have been if we treaded on the other tine at the forked crossroads.Yes I used to wonder WHAT IF.

Every aftermath of a decision was introspected with what would have happened if I had done it differently and interjected with confusion , more confusion !!!

I have mellowed , morphed into someone who sees each fleeting second with awe.For me life is a bundle of joy, sorrow, excitement, anticipation which unravels in the morning and wraps in the evening. There is nothing before or beyond this.

I see people around me in bewilderment at my insousiant existence not worrying what happened in the past and not dreading what lies in the future.

You never know what LOVE is unless someone has broken your heart.
You never know what FAITH is unless someone lost your trust.
You never know how precious LIFE is unless you have lived it to the FULLEST.

Life is full of options and choices. There is no right or wrong decision. It is the consequence which makes us happy or unhappy. As long as you can LIVE with it GO for it.

How difficult is it to call a truce, ignore a taunt or escape a tantrum with your loved ones.
YES, VERY DIFFICULT as long as you don't realize how easy it is to express.

How confused are we unable to decide if it is the right course, good college, best company, perfect partner.
YES, EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING as long as you do not know how to move on.

How complicated is living with the plethora of options, multi-ply twists and jaw-dropping surprises.
YES, HIGHLY PERPLEXING as long you do not realize that life in itself is so simple.

I read some of the posts here and wish I could tell them that no one tells anyone that life is gonna be this way.I can just tell you that life is beautiful amidst the potpourri of pain, pleasure and pandemoniun if you believe in oneself and see through the fugacious fog fencing you from MOVING AHEAD.

    Sabitha,
I agree with you on your views 100%
I wanted to become a doctor when I was school kid (I think the patients were lucky, is it not :biglaugh)
After college years, call came me to become a kindergarten teacher from my old school, but I refused...(the reason..I don't remember now):bonk
    Very well said.
    True, absolutely true.
I just selected these quotes, which caught my attention among others, which are equally :thumbsup.
I thought you are going to write about your trip to Kenya, after looking at the title :biggrin2:
    As always superb post.

    Dear Sabita,

Wonderful post.Yes, what we dream about as kids, being pilots and engineers for boys, being airhostess and actresses for girls, but we forgoet them and life takes a different turn.

And good that u are enjoying where u are now and what u are, instead of what u could have become.Crossroads come fro many.

do u know Azimji Premji, was studying in Stanford, when his fatehr died, and he had to come down to take care of the business.they were small timers, and today he is one of the richest man in the world. He too must have dreamt of something, but that is how life is really at times.

I guess everything happens for the best.God gives us what we deserve, not necessarily what we desire.what say ?

    Regards

    kamal

Alpa and Aruna are already painting IL in all hues and shades available in the spectrum of iridescent colors. If I were to start another thread on our adventurous meet in Kenya then the super mods would throw us all out and ban from IL.:crazy:crazy

Aruna you calling me naughty is not palatable. In fact I graduated under your tutelage and what I can do if I mentor is so cute and naughty herself !

Should I thank you for stepping by ? Neah , I would have woken you up in the middle of the night and asked you to read it, if you hadn't marked your entry in 24 hours.:crazy:crazy:crazy

My adorable Nivean princess, your presence has really corroborated the essence of the post.

    My dearest Sabi,
very well written something that i learnt from you or rather we share it is that what you thought you expressed it like a lot of things we talked about on your last day in here you were actually talking what was in my mind and i could not express myself but you spoke word to wordwhat was in my mind we were thinking the same things, what you have written "WHAT IF" is the same thing i used to think and the below i have been through it and can write a book about it and today i feel you have spoken what is in my heart

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL INDEED it upto us on how we make the choices and we haveto live by it we cannot blame anyone but ourselves for the choices we have made. We tend to hold on to the past and not come out of it, some do coe out of it after a period of time.We as individuals have a lot of egos and sometimes we do not want to say SORRY AND CALL IT TRUCE we want to hold on and in this process we suffer. Life is not complicated we make it complicated.

LOVE is a beautiful thing, love everyone unconditionally and do not have expectations, by doing this life will become simple and easy to live.
FAITH everyone has faith in something and sometimes the people we love most betray our trust we loe trust in everything, but hang on there have faith in yourself and believe in yourself, stay positive and everything around us will be positive.
LIFE as i said before life is beautiful,no matter what the situation is always be calm and make the best out the worst situation.
Let go of the past do not hold on to it, move to the future, today is your present live it to the fullest.

You experienced your 6 days with my family and myself you know how we live life and i thank you from the bottom of my heart for the talk we had on your last day and also for writting this post.

sending you lots of love, hugs and kisses
    love
    alpa:cheers

    Dear Sabhi,
What a fabulous post !!! ( Shows your losing of teens:)just kidding!)
You have shown all different views and dealt with it in a beautiful manner with your mastery over language.
The joy and art of having less while enjoying more of life depend on so many factors. When we open up physical space in our environment, a tremendous feeling of peace can dwell within us. This is the principle behind Japanese style homes. Beauty in small spaces is the appreciation of minimalism, where less truly is more. We need to understand that space is to be enjoyed, not filled. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. By cleaning out and simplifying our outer space, our inner space will open up like a flower.Appreciation is the seed for abundance; abundance of the mind and the soul. It’s pretty amazing how little we actually need. When we clear our homes and our lives down to the essentials, we are able to better enjoy that which we do have. Nothing external to us can give us permanent and true happiness. We actually have all we need to be truly happy within us.
The art of having less but enjoying our lives more, involves a few simple changes in perspective. First, we must understand where our true values lie and focus on them. Then, we must take time to enjoy the simple things, and slow down and see what’s right in front of us.
If you want to have more enjoyment in your life, enjoy what you have. It is said that in order to live the life you love, you have to love the life you have. We don’t have to seek beyond ourselves in order to find happiness. No one person has everything they want; but we all have some things worth enjoying. So focus on those things and enjoy them!
BTW, I want to become a business tycoon and fly over all the countries , so many assistants to take my orders !!! But now I am going all around the world virtually ,through IL. I am happy !! What do you say Sabhi ? Sorry for the long one.
    with love
    paddy

    My dear sabitha,
Such an interesting article.I just loved reading it .You write so well.

I have mellowed , morphed into someone who sees each fleeting second with awe

So long as we have this ability to feel awe at every small thing that happen before us ,we also retain our youthful spirit and are filled the joy of living

In Sabitha I can see a vivacious, bubbly cheerful person capable of shooing away the blues in others.

May God bless you with sunshine days always.
    love
