Urgent - How to clear the black stain in silver thattu?

Try cleaning the stains with toothpaste. It works on most of the stains on silver items.

I buy from Walmart, a silver stain remover and use that to periodically clean my silver articles.

To remove stains and to periodically clean silver articles (when they get oxidised), first wash the article in plain water and then let it dry. When it is completely dry, use tooth powder (the white colour ones) - sprinkle it and wipe with a clean cloth.
This was suggested to me by the jewellery shop (Joy Alukkas) from where I bought a silver. They do this to maintain the silver products at their shop itseems.

The silver polish (Wright's is common good brand) that you buy in the grocery store will safely polish your silver and it has an anti-tarnish agent in it. Tooth paste also works but does not contain anti-tarnish agent. Silver items that are enclosed behind glass will stay shiny if you put a block of camphor in the cabinet. If items are silver plate (not solid silver) it is very important to use soft cloths and a gentle polish as you can clean right through the plating or leave a lot of scratches on any type of silver item.
