    Dear mp,
Besan ka chilla is not known to me, sorry.
When you are fond of cooking, nothingbetter to motivate you than a supportive family. As you meet with success, the interest develops!! finally, you get 'the hang' of it. But, perserverence is a must. Chase out laziness!!

    Dear mami,

I have one doubt on the recipe of nothing but fibre http://www.indusladies.com/forums/1253843-post55.html . can I use the Quaker brand oats which is used for making porridge etc. The recipe says rolled oats and I remember you have given a recipe on how to make rolled oats. But still , if I use the ready made store bought normal oats, will it be ok to try this recipe? I have bought some figs last week . Wanted to try this recipe

    Thanks mami

Yes, Radhi. You can use Quaker brand oats. If necessary soak for a few more mts. It will come out perfect. It is a great, creamy smoothy.

    Dear Mami,

Vacation time is around the corner here. I would like to prepare and store as many ready to use podi and pickles for Mr.S who will be joining us after 40 days.

I plan to make and store- Pulikachal which can be used as a side dish for bread + making rice.
Also plan to make and store Tomato thokku, Parupu podi, Adai mix.
I would like to know if i grind batter for dosa or idli how long will it stay good if kept in freezer.
Rava idli mixture will it last for 1 week if i dryroast and add all ingredients except fruti salt and curd and store in refrigerator.
If i boil and keep pulses in refrigerator will it remain fresh for more than 2 weeks.

I will also search through your recipe index and try to sort and prepare any other long lasting sidedishes, podis.

    Love,
    Parvathi.

    doubts about MW

    Dear chitra maami,
I hv bought a MW now and trying out some recipes on that. Last wk tried to make MOREKALI - the famous south indian tiffin , in MW . But unfortunately after the seasoning part i took the glass bowl out and tried to pour the rice flour with curd mixture. The glass bowl suddenly broke into pieces. I don't know what was the mistake, pls can u guide me so I can avoid such accidents in the kitchen. Can we use ordinary baking tins cake moulds (aluminium / tin) in convection mode for baking cakes in MW. Please reply, tks

    uma

    Dear Chitrama,

I have my 4th Wedding Anniversary next month..Planning to throw a party for our friends (may be around 15 or 16 ppl + 3 or 4 kids). I am planning to cook everything myself and I am very much confused about the Menu.
Can you pls suggest me some easy to cook recipes?? My menu goes like this:

    1.Starters (1 or 2)
    2.Main course ( 2 or 3 )
    3.Salad
    4.Fruit juices and Cold drinks
    5.Chips/cakes/cookies
    6.Sweets/Desserts

Is this ok? or Should I add something else
    Pls suggest me.

    Thanks,
    Aarthi
