    Dear ILites,

I'm mother of 2 kids, my problem is both the kids complexion are different, my son is bit fair, but my daughter is bit dark, she is only 2 years now.

After my son's birth, when he was 2 or 3 yrs old, I started a habit of drinking black tea in the morning as soon as I get up from bed and I was continuing the same habit while I was carrying my daughter. Now, my mother blames me that b'cos u were having black tea in the morning, ur daughter's skin:help has become dark. From then onwards, I'm feeling guilty of myself that b'cos of my habit my kid had to get dark skin. Is it b'cos of having black tea my kid 's skin became dark?

Is there any easy remedies to make my daughter's skin bit fair, too fair is not possible but still. As I'm working, I leave my kid with my mother, so please suggest some easy methods , so that my mother can do.

I'm worried b'cos when she grows up, if she asks why brother is fair and she's dark, what will I answer her? At that time also I'll be having the guiltiness within me that I may be wrong somewhere when she was in my womb.

So, I earnestly request u all to suggest me some methods to improve my kids complexion.

Please reply at the earliest as I'm in my working place, I'll not be able to open the internet very long.

    Thankyou everybody in advance.

    With warm regards
    Geetha:help

I don't think black tea has had any effect on your daughter's complexion.

Moreover, what is wrong with dark complexion? Haven't you heard that 'Black is beautiful'? Do not feel bad about your daughter's complexion and do not let anyone (even if it is your own mother) blame you for her complexion. There is nothing wrong with her complexion, period. Believe it yourself first and you would have no problem with your daughter when she grows up because she would have no reason to think that her complexion is a handicap.

    So quit worrying!

hi. massage your daughter with olive and badam oil daily and give bath and prepare oil out of ripe turmeric. you need to grind the turmeric and extract juice and mix it with olive oil or badam oil. let it boil and preserve this oil in bottle and give massage to entire body. gradually she will turn fair. dont worry. black is beauty dear. fair skin is got nothing to do.

    Hi Geetha,

I second IndianDad. Black is beauty - don't you feel so? I would not have married my husband if he weren't dark! Dark complexion has its own charm. Let your girl grow up confidently. Also never ever compare her with anybody in any regard.

And complexion is based on the chromosomes you and your DH shared. It is beyond your control.

So Be Happy as there is nothing to worry.
My wishes to your beautiful girl. :thumbsup

No Black tea doesn't affect the complexion of a baby.I understand your concern. You can make a paste of moong dal powder with curd or milk cream for the bath and also use baby-safe sunblock lotion spf between 15-30 just 15 minutes before you take your kid out in the sun.
I guess that is all you can do till she is a grown up girl.
Having said that , kids always build their self-esteem essentially from what parents say.She will learn to appreciate her complexion when she sees your admiration in her colour.

    Hi,

Thank u all for ur valuable suggestions and replies, but I get hurt when my neighbours comment that, how come all of you are fair and ur daughter is dark, but I ignore them saying that what is there in the complexion, she's healthy that's more than enough.

    Warm regards
    Geetha
