I didnt want to continue the discussion in the "Men and Women physical and mental strengths thread" - so starting a separate thread.

Title says all. Post your views.

Me - I get confused sometimes, but for the most part I do believe in God and do find that true prayers are a way of connecting to the entity. Call it God or Universe or Energy or what you will.

But I'll admit I have more questions than answers and get myself confused sometimes.

Spiderman enjoys a good controversy, doesn't he? :rotfl

Stay off such subjects Spidey or before you know it you will be tangled in your own web!

    No.

I don't believe in bargaining with and appeasing all-powerful, invisible entities to safeguard me and my family in this life and ensure an eternal reward in the next.

I don't believe in making offerings or performing rituals, especially when that money, food etc. could be put to better use for real, live people.

I believe in doing the right thing because it is right, not because the Big Guy in the Sky might be watching.

However, I also don't believe in judging people who do have faith. Whatever gets you through the night...

What more can I say, if you have already posted my exact thoughts in your name?!! :bowdown

I honestly do not know.. Sometimes I believe that God helped me to get through my tough times. Sometimes I question where was HE and why did HE let things happen in the first place. Sometimes I get tired and prefer to believe in HIM as it is easy way out.. you know...

It is like this: I believed in HIM. Then I did not. Then I wanted to believe in HIM. Now I think I believe in HIM..

After the tragic turns in life, I am trying to get to the old ultimate bonding I 'had' with HIM in my school - college days.. still trying..

I am as confused & confusing as this post when it comes to GOD.

Who is God, What's his role and purpose? We don't have answers. My conscience is God. My instincts are God.

When I do the right thing, I do it because my conscience tells me. When do I need God? I need God when I am confused, when there is a weakness in myself and the happenings around me.

This prompts me to seek the eternal energy. The inner force also makes me run away when I made weaker even after looking upon the heaven. It makes me run away because of the misunderstood theory or the unexplained theory of Karma.

Now I realize there's something greater, but I run away from the greatest because I am unable to rationalize or reason out its behavior. So do I believe in God? I don't know.

Prayers are nothing but concentrating with all your energy on something that you want to happen. This includes your subconscious level too. But somewhere there's a leakage in channelizing this energy that things don't turn into your favor. Now this leakage is again attributed to Karma. If prayers are answered, I will pray that the world must be extremely peaceful and all of us must have a peaceful death. This is not going to happen anytime because each one of us have a certain construct and whatever happens around us is because of us or we are affected because we are in a certain network.

If marriages are peaceful, children are healthy, professional lives are soaring high and you have a midas touch over everything with your conscience doing only the right thing, you don't need God. God operates a network and when something happens somewhere in this network depending upon the closeness of our existence to the happening we are punished or rewarded.

The human brain must dictate what is good and bad and must allow us live a very lateral life which does not bind us by customs or culture. All the brain must dictate is the right and wrong and be compassionate to the fellow beings. If this is reciprocated, our lives become peaceful and God won't have the administrators job. He will be laid-off big time.

Anbe Sivam!!!!! Kamal said it all in the film.

Still I believe in God - the supremacy. Prayers - No I don't believe in such things. But if I get frightened about anything...I will immediately start saying Shasti Kavasam. I didn't do the research whether it worked or not. Why take the risk?!
