    Hi,

Try reading Jane Austen. You will finish it with refreshing experience
If you like fast-paced thrillers, dont miss Alistair Maclean. Almost all his novels are exhilarating. they are short, fast paced, and have a hero you would admire.

    Happy reading,
    Radhika

    My list of all-time favorites

    - Alistair Maclean - almost all the books
    - Robin Cook - most books
    - Jane Austen - all
    - Shakespeare
    - R L Stevenson
    - I dont know whether to add this section - Archies and Richie Rich comic strips

    Hi Shanti,

I never got around to reading Atlas Shrugged because from the excerpts and reviews that I came across, the story seemed almost exactly like Fountainhead. But I will now give it a try ..

Thanks for the suggestion .. I was looking for a good read!

    luv,
    Priya.

I recently read - The Kite Runner (by Khaed Hosseini). It was amazing. It captured the history of Afghanistan (ad its related problems) very well through the personalized account of one man and his family and friends.

If you want to try something new, do try this book. I couldn't put it down..it was so interesting.

Other than this, I LOVE Agatha Christie. I can read her books over and over again without getting bored (even after knowing "who dunnit" ):-D.

I also like all the Robert Ludlum's and Clive Cussler's in the thrillers category.

For romantic fiction, I love Jude Deveraux. She has such an interesting way of writing, that I never, ever get bored...when I pick up a book from her, I know I'm in for a treat. If you have never read her - then try "A Knight in Shining Armor". That was her first that I read and got hooked.

Priya 24 - I also love P.G. Wodehouse. I last read his "Pigs have Wings" and I was rolling with laughter all the time...:-D and I also like most of Enid Blyton's...brings back so many memories. Specially secret seven, famous five etc

MSRadhika - I also dig Amar Chitra Kathas...I got a ton of them recently from navrang website. :)

I recently joined a book club and have enjoyed these two books by "Khalid Hosseini" A Thousand Splendid Suns" and "The Kite Runner". I cried alot while reading both of them. Yep, I can't believe even as i'm typing this message countless people in the world are undergoing this horrendous fate.
