    Do you know?

Salman Khan was behind bars in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Jodhpur</st1:place></st1:City>. That’s no news to us. I agree with you all. He has appealed for bail. That’s again no news to us. O.k. O.k. I am coming to the point. <st1:country-region><st1:place>India</st1:place></st1:country-region> celebrated Raksha Bandhan on <st1:date Month="8" Day="28" Year="2007">28th August 2007</st1:date>. Common Mals, stop boring us. Friends, I have pledged that I will come to the point. I am slowly treading towards it, as I have out of the blue recollected my primary teachers good words of virtue: “Slow and steady wins the race”. By now, each of you are running towards the nearest easy throw weapon. I know my friends, so I am already with a helmet and a “Kavach”. :shhh:

Let’s discuss seriously now. On the eve of Raksha Bandhan, thousands of sisters were standing in a queue to tie rakhi to their brothers who were in <st1:City><st1:place>Jodhpur</st1:place></st1:City> jail. Few are there for years and their sisters come religiously on this day to do the honours. Its suppose to be very hot there during this season, but the woman do not complain about the heat rather they wait in queues for hour (closer to 10 hours too), they try to catch up with the queue from the previous night itself. This year too this procedure followed. Now again, what’s so special about it? We know sister ties rakhi on her brothers wrist and since their brothers are behind bars they have to go to the jail to tie rakhi. What are you trying to say? Is what is their in the minds of all the readers of this thread?? I can understand.

But on <st1:date Month="8" Day="28" Year="2007">28th August 2007</st1:date>, all sisters were waiting with baiting breath for the Jail authorities to let them in. They were not allowed to enter the premises and no explanation was given to them. It was past <st1:time Hour="12" Minute="0">noon</st1:time> and they were tired and hungry with scorching feet and parched throat. Yet, they did not get out of the serpentine queue, waiting patiently.

Suddenly a big plush car passed them with a screeching halt. Who could it be? Who’s come today? Oh ya, Salman’s mother and two sisters got off the car and were immediately whisked away inside. They walked tall, tied rakhi on the wrist of their loving brother spent around 90 minutes in the barrack of their beloved son / brother.(courtesy Times of India, Mumbai). After the “pappi” and “jappi” they swayed slowly towards their car and drew back home. MONEY POWER MY FRIENDS, EVEN LAW CAN BE MODERATED FOR IT……….:cool2:

Whilst the sisters of lesser brothers were pushed out in just five minutes as they were getting late to close the visiting hours. There was nobody to listen to their saga nor was anyone offering them a cuppa. Were they able to reach home?? Where did they stay the whole night? Were they having that much money to spend few extra hours outside? No answer. Even I do not have... :?:

Salman may probably be out on bail and amidst his family. These women may not have that privilege for years. Love has no boundaries and can withstand storm. May be on their way home all of them had only one question in their mind, “Why is that we always suffer?” They just stared in the oblivion and moved on. They will come again next year, this time they will have one prayer to God, hope there is no celebrity in the jail.

I salute them and salute the authorities too for the beautiful arrangement.:shaking:

Now, trust me, I was seriously telling you something. Agreed na… :?:

    Hi Mals,
Good to c u posting again. Law can be altered for anyone whose family has the money and power to do it. If you know people in the right places, then Lo!! you can do things unimaginable to the common junta. To his kith and kin seeing him on Raksha Bandhan is important, but no one can answer the oft asked question What happens to sisters of the lesser mortals. After all to each his own, every brother and sister should get their fair due, so what if the brother is in jail. Salman Ka Kamal Hai, Kya???? Or is it 'Paise Ka Kamal'.

    Hi, malspie

Yes. It is true. Money can reach any place and get anything done. When Abhishek Bachan and Ishwarya Rai got married and went to Thirupathi, I read that all protocols were thrown out to accommodate them with special poojas.

I saw a news on Zee TV that when Sanjay Dutt came out of Yerawada jail in Pune, the constable who hugged him and others who shook hands with him have been charge sheeted. I felt pity for those people. Along with doind their duties they are also human beings and they are also fans of Sanjay Dutt. What is your opinion on this?. btw, I am glad that you are back respecting my request.

Yes I totally agree with you. They just hugged Sanjay Dutt the film star. They forgot about his criminal status. The criminal is out on bail and is going to complete his assignments worth in crores and the poor constables have lost their jobs..

And yes, special arrangment of AB and family in Tirupathi against the temples own set laws. With much hue and cry from the media the temple head came out with the statement he was not aware of the issue and would look in to it. Media is chup and the temple head also.. While commoners like us do not even get proper darshan even after paying special VIP darshan fee.

How did you miss on Siddhi Vinayak which is following the path of Tirupathi Devasthan. Use money and power to have a darshan of the lord else, stand for hours in queues only to be pinched, nudged and harassed for a 1/10 of a second darshan...

I stopped going to Siddhi Vinayak on Tuesdays. Instead, I go on odd days. What say...................

Govinda Govinda............Thats all I can say...

    Hi mals,

Welcome back. Yes my husband always says a dialogue, maybe he picked it in some movie...tumhara pyaar pyaar aur hamara bekaar... yes, here how apt... all those sisters of the other prisoners should have been thinking on those lines nah..

well i dont have a brother.. but i feel sorry for all those people who were waiting....

but money reaches anywhere. there is a saying in tamil panam irundhal ponamum pesum..(even a corpse will talk if there is money).. i used to think it is silly, how will a corpse speak when i was young.. now as i grow wiser(??) with age.. i do understand.. or should i say being made to understand..

Why do you go to the celebrities.. have you sat in waiting for consultation at the doctors... all the patients wait for hours.. suddenly somebody important comes.. the doctor wait on that person for some time. . all the others have to wait...It happens most of the time with my cardiologist.:shaking:

    hi,
Well, i dont know how people will react if i confess that i am a fan of salman khan(only his screen image & not his offscreen image). I have been religiously following every inch of the news aftermath his arrest. But somehow i missed this piece. Its very sad to know the plight of all other girls who have come with great hopes to spend atleast few moments with their brothers on that special day. Our judicial system is in need of much reform. you gals must have heard about the photos of Monica Bedi taken in jail. So , i hve come to the conclusion that celebrities(male) have certain advantages , but female celebrities have both advantages & disadvantages of being a celebrity.

    Hi Mals

In tamil movie there is a song.... Kase than kadavulada idhu andha kadvulukkum theriyumada.... (meaning Money is God and that God also knows that).... When you have money u get power.... when u have power then u can do whatever u want.....

I can only sypathasise for those people.....

But you have to appreciate somewhere down the line....... Even though SK/SD are very famous, they couldnt escape the law and they are punished for their crimes...... Though it is not in tandom with the common man....

    Hi Mals,

Welcome back and that too with a bang. Good god. What is happening in India, asks my father always whenever he sees that the powerful and monied people get their way across to so many places where as others have to wait and wait for hours.

He being in the IRS and had always been a very honest person had never asked for any favour from anyone neither allowed us to get some favours using his name and position. I am always impressed by him and I had always wished everybody be the same especially when I take my kid to the pediatrician with high fever or some other serious complication and has an appointment and be there on time. SIGH that never happens as people close to the nurses or the hospital staff get inside to see the doctor out of the queue. :bangcomp: :bangcomp: :bangcomp:
