    Dear Viji
Thank you so much for your welcoming words . Ever the sweet Viji !

    Dear Dr. Padmini,
Why the confusion ? I thought by now you'd have got used to being addressed as Dr., after Sri Cheeniya conferred that PhD on you for your wonderfully informative, enlightening views shared in FBs to any subject !:hatsoff
Thank you for your unfailing encouragement, dear Padmini.

    Dear Saraswathi,
I found it so unbelievable too that something happening somewhere should affect my schedules in my corner of the world ! Life is so mysterious, isn't it ! Though we had a wonderful time, nothing much happened that is report-worthy. I will just try to put in a post in the travel section sometime soon.
Thank you for writing in , Dear Saraswathi

    Good Lakshmi:

This is so wonderfully well-written that I hesitate to write an fb for you. You deserve all the Cheeniyas of the world to read you and write back. And not being Cheeniya's equal, I hesitate, as I said.

I wonder where you picked up your style. In school, in college, in a quiet corner of your home? In fact, I have little hesitation in declaring that Cheeniya has finally met his nemesis. No, that's a strong word. Cheeniya, let's say, has atlast found a sparring partner.

How can anyone write an fb to this scintillating piece of prose? And the subject you have chosen is itself a challenge of sorts. Can I find a parallel story from my own uneventful career?

After a great deal of memory searching, I landed on a bright sunny morning dated 1500 BC. Or, somewhere nearabout. Add or subtract a few millions. During those days, one used to keep dinosaurs for pets. We were poor of course and couldn't afford one.

Mom had this habit of reading out to me classics made easy tales and one such was "Oliver Twist". (Yes, she was somewhat more educated compared to other women in her generation. Could have a connection with she being brought up in Malaysia by a doctor father.) I liked the story, as any child would I suppose, and was thrilled to find out that there would be a morning show of the film version in a theatre not far from home. The gentleman living next door worked as a manager in the same theatre and he was the bearer of the good news.

So, I was dressed up in my Sunday best and taken to the theatre to watch in action my favourite tale at the time. When we reached the theatre though, we were told that the show was cancelled! And then we walked back all the way, I carrying on my head an unbearably heavy load of disappointment. In New Delhi station, porters might charge you a fortune to carry it for you. In fact, I ended up using a few bad words describing the poor manager. Mom stopped me immediately and that increased the intensity of the tragedy. Couldn't even let it out.

Fortunately, I did get to see the movie later on. But, the pleasure that its watching brought me was far outweighed by the pain of the non-watching experience. I might even begin to weep if I write anymore on the subject. So, please don't remind me about it anymore.

In your case of course, the plus and minus are not comparable objects. As a result, it is impossible for the plus to be set off against the minus to figure out whether the net quantum is positive or negative. I hope though that you can ignore these inconsequential details and feel more plussed than non-plussed.

    Love and best wishes.

    oj-da

    Dear dear Tubelight,

I am always in awe after reading your posts and quite frankly, hesitate to give a fb. And this time round, my fb follows Oj-da's and that doubles my hesitation!

Your posts are simply delightful and I think OJ-da has expressed some of my thoughts regarding your talent to write. Yes, where and how did you accumulate such a rich artistry to write! Yes, it is not even a question, only a loud musing :)

Well, the mighty Eyjafjallajokull resulted in Madikeri in your case. And there were all those lovely butterflies. You really can't be complaining!! Knowing our own mighty Lalitha, I am sure the next meet in our Bangaluru will be round the corner and how I wish I were there along with Mindian. I would LUV to meet all of you.

Also, I enjoy the Karnataka flavor you add to your snippets be it in the form of a song or pada.

Me too looking forward to seeing your pic like our Dr Padmini!

    L, Kamla

    Dear Oj-Da
I am so happy to see you stepping in here to gift me such beautiful words of appreciation and encouragement. But I cannot understand what you, with your awesome literary talent and skills, find in my writing that you start wondering where I could have learnt to write ! I din't learn to "write" at all. I went to ordinary educational institutions that did not have any inspiring teachers. I don't read great books. But i developed a love of writing only because of the frequent and prolific letters ( inland letters) my father wrote me and my brother from his faraway postings and camps. In response to his chatty letters, i poured out too, just like in spoken conversation, forgetting i was writing. If you find it readable, i can only say i am very happy to hear that.

But please Oj-Da, I am not interested in duelling or sparring or wresting laurels from dear Cheeniya or anyone else. I din't come here to prove anything to anyone. I just want to write, share thoughts, make friends, gossip a little, have a nice evening and go to bed happy.

So nice to know your mother was a well read lady and you grew up in a rich literary atmosphere. No wonder at all that your pen glows golden.
Too bad the first attempt to see the movie ended in disappointment. For a kid that is great tragedy indeed. But you did get to see it later, so why carry the old grouse ?

Dear oj, i always feel plussed when i think how fortunate i am to have found this forum which gave me the opportunity to make friends with wonderful people and getting noticed by Oj and Cheeniya !

    Dear Kamla,

This makes me very unhappy. What am i doing wrong that you should find me forbidding ! Its like college times when a bunch of A- section girls hang around having a whale of time and in walks a B -section nerd and they sober up and say polite things etc etc. Its alienating. Please, i dont want anyone so in awe of my posts that she hesitates to interact freely with me

But i know you meant well dear Kamla. I am grateful to you for your unstinting cheering !
I'm so glad you always notice the padas and kavanas and mention it without fail !

Would love to meet you too, so when can we expect you in bengaluru again ?
    :cheers

If I have given you the impression that I am imploring you to engage yourself in a competition then I am truly sorry. Do forgive me.

It was just an innocent joke. But do forgive me all the same.

:hiyaThat was not needed at all, dear Oj da.

I know you jested, and hoped you'd see that i jested too . Just the kind of jesting that would've justified its nature had a Smiley been added, but just forgot. So, no more jousting, lets give this confusion its just desserts i.e. burial of the non-existent hatchet, and just move on . The gist of the matter, Dear Oj Da, is that you din't say it and i din't say i did see it , so you saw what i dint say and said what i dint want said at all. As I said, just jesting without judicious use of Smiley icons is unjustified , so here goes :
    :):crazy:cheers:biglaugh
    All is well !:biggrin2:

    Dear TL,

Wonderful write up as usual.:thumbsup I always love to correlate the things that happen in our daily life with chaos theory.

But you are such an expert to explain your holiday trip with the butterfly effect.

    Keep writing TL:cheers
