Hi, I will be relocating on May 1st to Bengaluru and was wondering if using Dishwasher on a regular (daily) basis like here in US is practical given the water shortage issues that may arise in apartments. We are almost close to booking Adarsh Palm Retreat in HSR layout. Any other Palm-Retreat-ians out here ? -Nan
Skalluri: Go on youtube and see the Indian dishwasher demos...they are really good. Water filters etc etc. There is a dishwasher thread somewhere with lots of info.
We are coming to BLR on assignment for 1-2 years (we are brought up here in the US), so this move isnt permanent. Most of the expats I have spoken too say they have all the american appliances...and its great! Some say, that out of habit, their domestic help will still wash the dishes by hand. So its a trial and error. By having the help, you dont need to run your washer everyday....because they clean the dishes after each meal. However during dinner time when the maid isnt there...the dishwasher gets stocked up then and instead of being run every night, its run ever other night. Either way, I plan on keeping our life as transparant as possible and will be getting the appliances. We were considering Palm Retreat, but we want the Pool! LOL So I think we will be at Palm Meadows or Ozone. But would love to KIT, and meetup once we reach...always good to make friends! mona
Hi Mona, Thanks for responding. We heard that the pool is almost done and will be open for use soon. Is that not right? One major thing we are concerned about (more than the amenities) is that it seems to be very sparsely populated. The main reason we are moving into an apartment instead of a villa is to have the feeling of a community where we can meet and make friends with many people and my kids can have many playmates. -Nan
Hi Nan, I use IFB Neptune dishwasher. Here is a thread where the dishwashers are discussed: http://www.indusladies.com/forums/personal-technology/18783-dishwashers.html -Lakshmi
