I can't afford much for the studies.. I am looking for any certification courses relating to Accounts and Finance. Looking farword for the replies.. Thank U..
Hi, Welcome to IL. Community colleges are like junior colleges. They, most likely, will not have master's courses or higher levels. If you are looking to pursue certain short term courses then you can very well do so at a community college. Some colleges even offer credit courses. Hobby classes are also conducted at many communitycolleges. For example, the community college near my home conducts salsa, yoga classes etc. There will be online courses as well. About how to find one, I am not sure. just try googling " Fremont+community colleges". I found mine that way. Good Luck
Hi Vijaya, Just to add to what Neha had posted... Community colleges would be great for short terms courses - like for 2 to 3 weeks duration, per day an hour to 2 hours class and they don't cost you much. They have courses from morning to late evenings, online courses and all the courses will have certificates. I have attended a few IT courses in Austin Community College. They also encourage to do a project in the case of IT courses (not sure about non-IT) after you complete the course (stay at home) and you can upload the same into their network. An authorized reviews and certifies your project too. Advantages of a certified course with project completion, they will have you listed in their database and when they come across job openings - part time / full time, they will reference you. Provided we have all legal and immigration requirements satisfying to take up a job outside home, we can make best use of those references as a new-comer to the US. I am sure there would be something like this for Finance and Accounting areas too. I remember seeing Accounting/Book-keeping series and Financial Management kind of courses. You can pull other their course schedules (like Spring / Summer / Fall Schedule) online too, if you get to the community college's website. Like Neha mentioned, Google - "Fremont Community Colleges" or "Colleges near Fremont, CA". Good Luck! Malathy
Hi, Thanks for the reply Neha n Malathi. I will come back if i found any updates. If anyone in our community pursuing courses in the mentioned field please let me know. Thanks..
The community college in my area has short term courses for accounting/book keeping. there are semester courses(credit) and non-credit ones as well. Some community colleges offer online courses as well that are really cheap. Search for community colleges in your area and they check the catalogs to see the courses they offer.
