    :help I am not smart.. says my DS. :drowning

    In a fight for the TV Remote DH and I as usual lost the battle with my DS on purpose. Ended up watching, "Are you Smarter that a 5th grader" Game show.

    It is a game where adults try to answer subject questions from 1st to 5th grade level. The prize is big money but if they lose, they have to utter the dreaded words "I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader" on camera.

    There came a question on Grammar (I believe, 1st grader level).
    Q: How many Singular Possessive Nouns are there in the following sentence: Pablo's cats jumped on his children.. yada.. yada.. yada..

    I don't know if it was fate or just my English Teacher's curse, I got mixed up with Possessive Nouns & Personal Pronouns and blurted out with confidence :bonk "the answer is 2". My DH was like "WOW.. my DW knows so much.."

    But when the TV host said, "And the correct answer is.. ONE".. my DS gasped, "I can't believe I let you teach me!!" :hide:

    Well.... I must admit that I dont very well remember what is possessive noun :hide: now I should go and recollect ;-)

    Lets admit that sometimes(or many a times) we are not smarter than the 5th Graders !!!:rotfl

    that was really a fun post. btw how old is your son??

    Truly, even i am relearning all grammers, from my 1st grader DD. Although we construct the sentences properly, we forgot the Technical terms, like possessive noun, pronoun etc. etc.......

    enjoyed reading. keep posting.
