I worked for a software company for a good salary for 2 years and left the job. I left the job stating that I am interested in making jewelery. Even in a bad condition my husband agreed for that. So with a great difficulty i have learned jewelery making. Recently I started making handmade fashion jewelery, I am doing it from past 10 months. Till now i use to supply limited jewellery to ameerpet bigbazar, and once I kept a stall in shilparamam for one month at the time of sankranti mela and some of my frens come to my home to buy jewelery. But frankly speaking I am running my business in loss. As i am mad for jewelry i am still doing this. The main disadvantage is that, I present lots of jewelery to my frens for free. I am sensitive hearted gal and if any asks some thing ill will give it . I cannot change my self in that aspect. I am unanswerable to my husband. When i was in job our both salary was good enough to run our family but now for business he is spending more money on me despite my earning. HE is very good that he never says a word to me. I am very guilty plz plz give me some suggestions regarding. I just wanted to earn some money for my family. I wanted to expand the business.. Thanku for ur patince plz do suggest.

Dear this simple suggestion from me, off course we do have lots of interests or hobbies in personal but you should have not left your job for that instead you can have made it secondary option. There is nothing wrong in starting our own business but business itself is a game of profit and loss, so be strong to accept what ever it is :thumbsup Wish you good luck!!
Re: plz suggest me in this regard.... Hi Pinky, Sorry to hear about the loss in business but you have identified the problem yourself. My suggestion: After making the jewellery, put them in a display case or cover and put the price tag on them. If a friend asks you for jewellery, show her the price tag and tell her that it is the price you would sell the jewellery for outsiders, but for her, you can give her at say, 5% discount. That would send a message to your friends that the jewellery is for sale and not for free. As per your post, your husband has been very supportive of you till now. But if you continue making losses in your business, your husband might feel bad, though he may not tell you. Or he might ask you to look for a job rather than continue a business which is making loss. So take a step in the right direction as soon as possible to continue doing things you love to do. Re: plz suggest me in this regard.... hi, u are a gusty girl who left her career to try to fulfill her dream.keep it up & u will succeed. 10 mths are short time to settle in any buisness.u need to try few more mths. how is the resonse otherwise.i mean where u get paid other then ur friends.now,if u stop gifting ur jewellary to friends are u making profit however small .r u friends getting u some futher clients .if yes,then u have done right in gifting them.if no then also u did right thing by gifting few of the things to friends but now u must stop. u are in buisness to make profit & its not just ur hobby anymore.so,tighten ur belt & think,act like any shrewd buisness women. try kitty system.someone known buys some jewellary ,they can pay in monthly installments.this attracts clients very much.give ad in local newspaper or set up stalls in collage functions,local trade fairs etc. some parlour also exibit jewellary charging u some commission.try that option also............. hope my suggestions help pragati
Hi , You can display your product near the appartments, in college campus if they allow and throw flyers with pictures and discount that you can give on your products everywhere possible so that people can atleast know. Start marketing yourself with minimal cost( Do flyers on your own). Ask your friends and family to do mouth publicity.
Hey pinky, I too work for a s/w co. some of my colleagues here do jewellery making as a part time job and they are doing fantastic i must say....their items are sold like hot cakes...even the guys buy for their wife/girlfren...u shudnt hav left ur job in the first place....ofcourse it ur personal choice no offense pls...anyways i see that u r in hyd...and u send ur jewellery to ameerpet BigBazar...gr8 job....i have been there many times and seen the jewellery too......it is good but v.v. costly.......it is much much higher than wat any local shops provide...so obviously anyone wud opt for the lesser cost ones since jewellery making has become a rage and there is wide range of choice for buyers... where in hyd do u live?? instead of depending on the big shops yu cud just put up pamphlets/ads nearby ur place jewellery exhibition cum sale with x% discount for opening/marriage season......something that cud attract customers... just try to gain publicity around ur area and definetly within a short spam the word goes around.... if u happen to live around my area then definitely i will be happy to help...Best of luck :thumbsup
