Dear ladies.. I am a L2 visa holder and recenetly landed here.I am not working and i dont have an EAD. I have two questions regarding SSN & ITIN 1) Which one of these should i take ??SSN or ITIN?? 2) Is it mandatory to have either SSN or ITIN for L2 visa holder
1) Which one of these should i take ??SSN or ITIN??You can take SSN. That is only if you want to work. 2) Is it mandatory to have either SSN or ITIN for L2 visa holder.- If you are planning to work then yes. L2 gives you an advantage of being able to work. Hence SSN and EAD.
Hi, I second chocolate, it always better to get SSN. As you are in L2, you are eligible to get SSN. It will take just 2wks or so...if you wish to work, better apply for EAD too, which will take 3months ...
HI, U can easily get ITIN. If u want to work apply for EAD, u will get EAD in 3 months, after getting EAD,apply for SSN. I think, with out EAD u won't get SSN. All the best Suneeta
Hi I am an L2 holder and i had applied for SSN recently and it will take 10 to 12 days max to get SSN.. U dont need an EAD to get SSN. Good Day!!!
Hi, I got EAD in around 4 months and after EAD it just took 4 days to get SSN.. In my case they had asked for EAD while applying SSN....I think its not necessary but its always good to have SSN here. Thanks, Kalp
SSN will be my choice too.. I am presently on H4 and have ITIN..It is not considered anywhere when you want to apply something for yourself... If L2 gives you an edge to work try for SSN..no second thoughts...
