    Dear Chitra,

nice and detailed explanation of arjuna's disease (btw a apt name??)

One of my friends says if he is in a problem, he just picks the gita and opens a page and the solution lies in that page. I am not surprised. such is the potent message given to us by krishna. if only i could follow and not be affected by arjuna's disease!!!

    Dear Shanthi,
    Thanks for your feed back.
Since I have written about & planning to post "Counselling in Gita" later, I call this Arjuna's disease. I read an article by Swami Chinmayananda using these words & liked it immensely.
What you said of Gita, is said about Ramayanam also !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chithra,

I have finally read this post of yours. You write so well. Each time there is a post on Gita from you, I experience a thrill. I am reading it and enjoying every word of it. I like your take on it and I am able to understand the philosophy of it so easily, thus explained.
What more, I am really excited after reading your reply to Shanvy. 'Councelling in Gita ' sounds simply wonderful. The sooner you start, the better !!
I know, I can keep requesting. I simply don't know ho you manage to compose and write so many posts for IL. Every each one of them a gem.

    Dear Kamla,
I am glad, you found time to read my post in the middle of your four generation routine.
I am worried, you got me wrong about counselling. I am just trying to explain how Krishna was the "Prime Psychiatric Counsellor !" Nothing more.
Now, all that I do is read my Gita class notes umpteen times & write, conveying all ideas that my teacxher explained to us. His explanation is very simple. He does not lecture on Gita, but takes classes & I feel, that makes all the difference in "lucidity" !
I hope & pray, you find time to stay tuned !
    Love,
    Chithra.

I am always tuned Chithra, maybe not to post a first fb, but believe you me, I am always on a look out for these posts of yours :)
Aaah...I thought you were going to give some guidlines of advice based on Gita 's verses. Or...I really don't know what I was thinking:cry: Never mind, your present format of Gita posts are excellent and there are enough guidelines there to apply to everyday life.
You also said that you never give advice unless asked for :-( Well, please do not apply that to me . A timely advice is a saving grace and I consider it a fortune to receive it than make or go on making blunders :)

    Dear Chith,
Thisweek's post on Arjuna's disease is a good title as it helps us to identify Arjuna's problems with our own mental condition. It makes me want to do some self analysis .THere is clarity of expressions in your wrtings and in this there is no confusion! I think you should post the Gita topics together
    Regards

thank you once again for this thread, Mrs.Chith.
As of date I thought that love and affection go hand-in-hand. Thanks for making it clear that love and affection are different and also that they go in oppsite ways.
looking forward for your post--Pancha kosas.

    Dear Chithu,

The one incident that stands foremost in my mind to which I can relate The Gita in my life was when my ancestral home was to be sold. The family was large and there were two sides. One that wanted everyone to get an equal share and the other that was hiding a Will written by my grandfather and trying to get a larger share. Many were afraid of questioning people in the second group because there was a fear of starting a cold war, fear of hurting someone's emotions, fear of verbal abuse, fear of being side-lined and made an outcaste.

Since I had lost my father at a young age and my mother and brother would never open their mouth, I had no choice but to question some elders who were my own uncles and aunts. For days I pondered over and over again (being crippled with Arjuna's disease) as to what words I would have to use and how I will have to approach them. When I finally did approach them, the inevitable happened. "How can you who was born much later than us, question our decision?". All those fears that I mentioned above began to take root. There was the pain of attachment, there was delusion and there was sorrow too. There were many moments when I thought I was wrong in questioning those elders. But now when I read your interpretation of Arjuna's state of mind, I find great solace.
