DD had become a good girl and was waking up 2 sometimes 3ce at night. but since last 2 days she is waking up every 1.5-2 hours....
sleeps from 9-2 am and then after that every 1.5 hours wakes up to nurse. my milk supply is not all that great but i know its enough to fill her tiny tummy. she empties both sides and still restless... goes to sleep and up fo feed in no time.

this is draining me out totally, could this be a growth spurt? is it common at 6 months too? i have become a zombie
i am not giving her much solids during the day, only a little puree/cereal for lunch. should i give her some cereal for nights?

Poonam, I had faced something similar to this a few weeks back... It is like she will never leave my B and just go to sleep on my lap.. once i try to take her away and put her in her bed, she cries a lot and it is uncontrollable. So, I used to feed her continously for around 3-4 hours lying down as well.. I thought it was a growth spurt...

Now this has changed a lil.. but not completely.. even now she wants to be nursing from for a very long period.. atleast nursing for comfort...
Is this common in this age?

Sorry, I dont think I have answered your question.. but just wanted to share my experience...

vidya i am trying to understand what could be happening?
theres no way i can measure my milk supply, its low and hence she is nursing so frequent? or maybe she is growth spurting?
maybe she needs a little bit of solids before sleep?i have noticed last 2 days she has become this SUPER active baby, she rolls almost round the clock, then cries coz she just cant stop but tired. its funny, as if rolling is just coming naturally to her and she just cant stop!
also last two days she is trying hard to army crawl. but cant. so she gets bugged ,fussy, tired.
i am seriously trying to find out whats bothering her, and wats making her our lil hungry monster

    Poonam,

That's exactly why we did the four semi solid schedule. Now we end up giving her food by 9.30 and by 10 pm DD is off to bed. One day I got carried away by her innocence just nursed her and put her off to sleep and man I had a tough time, she woke up umpteen times that day, ever since I caught my ears never to omit her last meal.

My DD never used to do this.My DS wakes up every 3 hrs (like an alarm clock )starting from 9.30 p.m.So he gets up 12.30,3.30,6.30 .He is on formula on the nights. My Milk supply is extremely down.So i decided to go for solids on my doctor's advice.I give him cereal at 9.30 and then he wakes up around 2.30.I give him formula during the wake and then he goes to sleep.Morning he wakes up around 6.30-7.00

It could be a growth spurt.

lee i give her cereal 2 scoops at 7.30 pm , since i thought any later would be hard on her. but that has not made any bit of difference!!!! she still wakes up every so often. bah
but she sleeps happy that she has had some solid food... i am going to continue these 2 meals though. she is just so super active that i think she requires this additional semi solid.
so we give her for lunch- 2 oz of veggie puree mixed with 1 scoop easum(rice+dal) and night 2 scooops easum mixed with water.

i made her get used to easum , and glad that it has worked out great with her, she loves it, and poops well now.my shifting would be not so difficult now. once we are settled i am going to start her on oats o bulgar wheat.and drop off this readymade cereal.

i think we can easily make this easum thing at home though... i am guessing dry fry equal amounts moong dal and rice, and powder together.baby LOVES it

lol ramya, u are funny. that was a typo..!
i meant oats or bulgar wheat.:D
bulgar wheat is actually par boiled broken wheat. but we can use dalia too.. takes longer to cook but very nutritious.my mom said she had started dalia for me wen i was 7 months old.

    He he hee ...:rotfl
I was wondering if you prepared something with oats and bulgar as some new nutritious recipe .... was thinking of sourcing it from you

In my house, starting wheat is kind of No No, atleast for now.
I want to put LO on Ragi, rice, oats and then slowly convince people here.
Do let me know if you get any good brands of bulgar wheat.

ramya its different in different parts of country u know. in north people seldom use ragi for babies. i hv seen this as a norm in south india. there we use suji(semolina) suji upma of running consistency is given after baby does well on rice.

yes i am planning to start suji on her nxt say 2 wks frm now. for now i am going to start rice cereal with veggie stew :D
if u want go through these links.

    Weaning recipes

these are lovely recipes. will try one by one.

about dalia, its highly nutritious. soak a spoonful in water for 1 hour. strain. cook with in pressure cooker with enough water(just like how u wld make kanji) add veggies of ur choice.service with a drop of ghee. start this aound 7 n half months or so. if not early.
