    Dear Friends
I want to share a funny (?) experience happened to me.

About 10 days ago, I saw a young man in his twenties, wearing the costume of
Anjaneya Swami and begging in the market. I asked him, why don’t you go to some work instead of begging? He answered me the usual ‘nobody is giving me work’. Since I’m in housekeeping business and always in need of manpower, I offered him job in one of my projects. He left me immediately and after 10 minutes he came back. ‘Madam, I’m ready. But I have to pay the rent of this costume. Give me just 10 Rupees. I’ve already got 10 rupees. So that I can pay the rent for the costume and return it’ – he told me. I gave him 10 rupees. I gave him the address of the work place and I also informed the supervisor there also to expect the boy. I myself went there to find out if he is there. But he was not to be seen.

Yesterday, again I saw him in the same market area wearing the same costume.
The moment he saw me, came running to me, started crying. “Madam, my mother was very serious, so that I have to go to my native place. But I’m ready now. But I have to pay 200 rupees for this dress. Pls pay me at least 100 rupees. Definitely I will come back and work”. When I looked around, all the shop keepers were wearing a naughty smile; some of them were already started laughing.

Just like that I walked away. What else can I do?

    Hi Uma,
Some people do not want to work hard and want to earn money in an easy way. But that young man did not realize that money will not help him for long time. I am sure one day he will repent for loosing the opportunity which one Maharaji (good hearted lady) offered. Keep up your good work!

    Hi Uma,
You may feel it funny now, but then, when it actually happened yoj would have felt really irritated right. good god. he didn't wear a costume that would have cost you your fortune. thankfully, you realised. you can see women with a small baby begging especially in traffic signals. I once met a woman who I see at this traffic signal on a regular basis. she will try to fall at my feet indirectly forcing me to give her something. On one of those days, she rightfully came up to me and asked for five rupees as she has to feed the baby (it was looking miserable). My heart went out for the child, so with motherly instinct I asked her "why don't you come with me to my home, do the daily chores and stay with me along with the baby. my thought was at least then will the baby be properly fed. you must have seen her reaction. she got really furious and said if you can give me five rupees give it otherwise you don't bother. that's none of you business. 'look how world is' I thought to myself and feeling sorry for the child. ( you never know whether the child actually is hers) because that's the hot business now. I also heard some creches work hand-in-gloves with these people. They know when parents will coem to pick up their child. so, they strike a deal with these people and allow for such chidl trafficking. 'my god. It's kaliyug. anything can happen,' was my mom's reply when I narrated the whole incident to her.
    cheers

    Uma,
There is a statement, which says, if you are being cheated once, it is ok....but if you are going to be cheated the second time...you are a fool...
    But you are not..:thumbsup

Sudhara..it is really shocking to hear that news...:spin

    Hello Uma,
Oh, so sad. I pity that fellow. He missed a nice opportunity. He will repent later.
Thank God you didn't get cheated.

Dear Uma, i think that person never wanted to change. Such incidents happened to me more than once... when anybody asks me why do you allow yourself to be duped i just say...... but we shouldnot change.... yes he may be a cheat but we have humanity... because of such people why should we stop doing the right thing.... one thing is that dont show the humanity to the same person again....

It was during our college days that i can recall three such incidents....

We had classes till 3 and after that we just went to the nearby bakery... ate nicely with all the money we had and came to the busstop... one man in his forties.... came to us and cried that he had no money and he wanted to go back to his place and asked us to help with money... all my friends said no (as we had spent the money at bakery) but me being me... i took out all the pennies i had in all the pockets of my bag ....and gave it to him (some 25 rs)... as we were looking that person crossed the road and went into the wine shop opposite to the busstop....

ladies used to come to our college with a card saying that they have a disease or they are deaf or dumb and collect money from us... after one such incident i saw the lady, who was dumb in the morning, talking in the afternoon....

ladies dress up one girl with flowers and turmeric and say that she is the marriage girl i dont have money for her marriage... i gave 250 rs. to one such lady.... next year the same lady with the same girl came to my friend's house when we were there by chance....

Sorry, my experiences came out as such a big post....

    Sandhya
