H1B- H4- H1B. have you been to india recently for H1b to H4 COS?

    Hi All!!
    Recently(2 months back) my H1B got approved.
    Right now I am looking for a project...
    Now, my SIL is getting married and its really hard for me:drowning, but I need to and I love to attend marriage.

    So, I need to go to Chennai, India and I am planning to come on H4 visa.
    Please do let me know, whether I can show my H4 visa(which is still valid) and enter USA ?
    Is port of entry gonna ask me questions regarding my H1b? Do I need to take any H1B docs even though I come on H4?
    Recently if anyone came on H4 from H1B..please share your experiences..

    Once I am back on H4 visa, if I find any project, will I be facing any issues to change my status back to H1B ? What all documents will they ask?
    Please do share your experiences..Thanks in advance..
