hi, does she cough before she vomits. That used to happen a lot with DS when he is congested. It probably is mucousy as she may be swallowing the secretions from her runny nose. Keep her well hydrated, I think it's nothing else.
Vomiting is a symptom of many diseases, my advice to you - don't google :). If you feel like reading up on something I would suggest Mayo Clinic's site. I find it helpful and reassuring.

    Hi,

Usually children who get cough or cold do get a lot of phlegm in the throat.. The secretions from the running nose, will deposit in the throat which makes them difficult to breath and swallow food.. while eating food, the thick mucus obstructs the food and as such it comes out as vomiting.. so, dont worry and the best thing to get rid of this is honey.. give a spoon full of honey before sleeping. this not only reduces cold and cough.. but also clears the phlegm or mucus from the nose n throat very fastly.. It is good infact, that when the children vomit, the mucus stuff goes out and makes them feel relieved while breathing and eating.. giving lot of liquids will help the throat get cleared and the phlegm goes out thru potty.. u can see it clearly .. apply vicks on neck, back and on chest.. will make them feel better...
    :thumbsup

My daughter 3 and half now had same problem of vomiting the thick mucus in middle of night after taken the antibiotic which the doctor had prescribed when she had cold & cough.
sometimes she used to do in the morning also, this was for 2 to 3 days and later reduced.
Usually cold & cough takes 2 weeks to stop completely.

give her warm water when ever she ask for water and force to drink more water.
don't worry about the vomiting ,if it is mucus then she will feel relief from congestion after that.

Nysa, hugs, am going through the same with my DD as well, she coughs a lot, gets better only after throwing up all the mucus and food in the middle of the night, sleeps peacefully thereafter :) My paed says this is normal, nothing to worry. As tikka says, googling gives me mini-heartattacks manyatimes :) I have stopped googling after getting into this forum :)))))))

PS: Can you edit your thread's subject as something thats relevant to coughing and vomiting? This would help all others looking for a similar information. Or you want me to do so? :))
