Dear friends, yesterday, when i was at a shop, where the owner is a part time lic agent, he was showing me a helpbook that lic has brought out to help people to understand the policies and payments and check list. I did not check if it was available at the website. but i felt the same check list works for any policy. here is the scanned copy for all of you. hope it is useful.

I used to pay my premium,DH's premium and one more term assurance premium through ICICI net banking and I heard that LIC's online payment system is very nice.After having a very good experience :hide:with SBI's online banking website,I did not even open LIC site. One day I had to do through LIC link,trust me! I was shocked to see the user friendly menus and they provide tax statement,summary of premium payments,sends reminders for your premiums through sms and emails and what not.Iam amazed! Make use of this facility friends!

I thought that was good info and wanted to share. rg, yes lic website is real user friendly, but i don't use it, i pester my agent for everything. he picks up the checks and bring in other details.:cheers some more info on that note, there is a holiday period you can avail, if you are not able to pay the premium for a period. there is the facility of taking loan against your policy, and i think you can take it from lic itself. details of which i will give when i get. i see papers advertising private players saying loans for policies. whether it is lic or any other policy do read the fine print and also work out the details, just dont look at them as tax saving instruments alone.
