It was the time when my kids were born….

They are twins (I think they are more known to all here than me). By that time they were very famous in the hospital as all the nurse were eager to see them. They were born before a month and were healthy and the recent twins in the hospital (later the nurse told me). Visitors to any room would peep in to see my babies. Everybody were happy to see them.

My daughter was very bubbly when she was born. My son was crying but my daughter was happy to see people around her. The second day they were born, they had jaundice. The usual one which most of the new borns get (that’s what the doctor told me).
So they had to keep the babies under light. Now this light was kept very near to their face so they had to cover the babies eyes when the light was on. The nurse first brought some black cloth like band to cover their eyes. My son was very obedient. He never touched the band and it remained intact.

But my daughter, she used to pull the band the very next second the nurse put it around her eyes. She hated it. She wanted to see people around her. The nurse couldn’t know what to do. After seeing the band in my daughter’s hand even my son started to do the same thing.

Now, the nurse brought bandage cloth and put that on her eyes and put plasters around it. My son now tried to pull it, it hurts so he just cried for few seconds and kept quiet.
My daughter was such a brat that she pulled even the bandage and was blinking with her beautiful eyes seeing the nurse. The nurse did not know what to do. This continued for 3 to 4 times. So everytime my daughter slept we would cover her eyes and keep the light on.

My son’s jaundice went away in 3 days but for my daughter it took 5 days.

For all these reasons we had to stay in the hospital for more than a week. All the doctors and nurse were surprised by this act of her that she had learnt so quickly and had also taught her brother – How to remove the band from their eyes..

I know that every mother has such stories about her babies. Please do share with us..

I guess that was one of your sweet episodes in the hospital with your bundles of joy. Thats so smart of your daughter and the brother religiously followed his sister. Nice bonding for them...right from birth.

    Dear Sandhya,
    Very cute ..............

When I was pregnant for the second child, I had a great fall in our bathroom and got admitted in the hospital.... I had severe pain in my abdomen and on my legs due to sprain.....As per doctor's advice treatment was given to control my pain first and then was taken to delivery ward.

When doctors said that normal delivery would not be possible, arrangements were made to do a C-section. I wanted to see my husband before am taken to the operation theatre. I told the nurse to call my husband from room no.10.

She went and came back with a reply stating that only your brother is there in the room and could not find the husband...(Ofcourse it was my husband!)

After all these comedies, I was taken to the Operation theatre and delivered my second baby.......She was 3.8 Kgs and was bubbly bubbly and choooo chweet..... My pain flew away when I saw her kicking and crying with her little toes.....:)

    Dear Sandhya,
I can imagine the happiness you felt by your little angel's mischief. That is echoed in your write up !!!
While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.I am now having a great time with my grand kid, little angel !!! She wants to go out. She points her little finger to the door and asking me to accompany her!!!
    with love
    pad
