GREY MATTER

It was a busy Sunday morning at the men’s saloon.

There was quite a rush and there was confusion in taking the hot seat, sort of a musical chair event like.

It would be great if they introduce the token system as in the bank, so that people don’t lose their cool.

Kids do flock & it is embarrassing to peer through the magazines that are adorned by the scantily dressed actresses & models.

But can someone take the kids away to kid’s saloons that are mushrooming these days.

Why is that saloons sport only such magazines? Men’s saloon naa, where women folks do not come and the guys have the freedom to do what they want. These magazines also ensure customer retention, a marketing ploy right from those days.

With the Unisex parlors’, this freedom may also be gone, as the whole family goes outing to the parlor spend half a day and sport a rich & flashy style and come out poorer by a few thousands.

There walked in a mid thirties guy, stylish with I-Phone, dark goggles and an imported ciggy pack on hand.

A kid spontaneously commented to his dad, uncle is smart but he can’t see. All tried hard to control the laughter. The guy too felt embarrassed & then removed his glasses. Who wouldn’t think the same as the kid, because the saloon is lit adequately and not hurting the eyes to wear a sun glass.

There was more to come.

Now it was the turn of the kid to take the hot seat, but the uncle requested & sat. The kid had to wait. The uncle was also happy that he snubbed the kid for his comments.

The hairs started falling, left, right, center, sides and the guy was happy that he got the style he wanted.

Now the kid was amazed & puzzled. He said to his dad, loudly of course, dad let’s go to a different saloon. Dad got irritated for many reasons – one is he couldn’t pry the magazines & secondly he has been patiently waiting for his son’s turn.

Before the dad could ask why, the kid said in this saloon see dad, this uncle sat as an uncle and now after the hair cut turned in to dadaji. I don’t want to turn into a dadaji.

The guys who were sleeping till then all woke up & started laughing and the uncle or dadaji got embarrassed. He must have felt that he should not have sat before the kid.

Late realization. Poor guy his hair had started graying faster than his age due to all the stress these days & the creams that we use.

Then the coloring session started & finally the guy turned out to be younger than he was.

The kid on the hot seat now yelled, dadaji ban <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">gaya</st1lace></st1:City> uncle again.

Again a burst of laughter all around. The guy must have felt really embarrassed but at the same time relieved as his episode at the saloon came to an end. He tipped the hair-styler and smiled a bit and was relieved to leave the saloon.

Beware of kids. They are not adults to think before they utter.

This could happen to any of us, though it’s an imaginary episode at the saloon.

The fairer sex too make note of this and this could happen to any of you in the form of an outspoken small girl at the beauty parlor when you get adventurous with the facials.

I thought of this when I started to color & hide my grey hair today.

Let’s color while there are no kids around and sport a young & charming look all around.

No I am not. It was totally imaginary but that could happen to any one.

I too agree with you, girls are smarter these days, especially in the make over mania.

Girls are sweet. Imagine your DD calling Dadoo Nee Thaaththaa Aayittae. Inside the house it's fun, we enjoy, but if in a saloon it will be embarassing.

Mine was an imaginary stuff. But I too started getting grey - both due to heriditary & stress, as well gulf water. Lucky I am not losing hair.

Then like Jaya says I should look for a Wig. :biglaugh

I understand your experience.

Yes it is advantageous & dis-advantageous.

The pain we take to hide the grey hair with all the new products out in the market does cause allergy & at the same time increase the greying too.

As long as we are not in an atmosphere where we need to maintain the look & feel, it's better to leave the greying as is.

I did not have such an experience in the saloon, but soon might. It was totally an imaginary stuff.

Heriditary & stress, water and all the chemical stuff we use are all the cause for greying at young age.
