I am very fond of reading books. Books in the sence novels in tamil, english and malayalam. In tamil I read books written by many authors like kalki, chandilyan, na parthasarathy , indira soundararajan, lakshmi, shivashankari, indumathi etc. Off the all I like the most of Kalki's novels. They are unique and mostly based on historical novels. Ponniyin selvan is the master of all the novels. Parthibhan kanavu is another gem. Alai osai is the best in his samooha novels.

I still remember the ponniyin selvan which came first in kalki with maniams pictures.

Is there anybody else who likes kalki's writings. Please share your thoughts.

    dear pashni

Nice to meet the first person in my kalki club. My favourite too is Alwarkadiyan only. I still remember his sentence " Hariyum Shivanum onnu, ariyathavar vayile mannu". While feeding my children, I used to tell some parts of ponniyin selvan. Nice to see your daughter having reading habit at this age. Do introduce Kalki to her after some time. I am sure she will fall for that. see you.

    dear veni,

It is interesting to have viji and you in our kalki club. ya dear I too love parthiban kanavu, shivagamiyin sabadam etc. I got those two books recently from Vanathi padippagam chennai on special sale. how will you forget shivagami, naganandi adigal and all. Still we can feel the sounds of ayanar s work if you go to mahabalipuram. Kalki was a natural writer. Is he not?

    Ganga,

My wife is crazy about Kalki.

I don't know whether Kalki himself would have read his novels that many times.

To me I know he is a great writer, but the long long novels remind me of the history books, so I did not read them yet.

That's a shame for me & not for the great writer.

    I shall soon start reading.
