    Cast iron?

All good brands except Cast Iron and very durable with correct usage.I prefer non-stick in all and dont like cast iron due to weight.Go for individual pieces not a set as not all pieces in a set are good.Browse around and look for deals. You will find it.Good Luck.

Like Chocolate even I prefer non-stick pots and pans for day to day use. Cast-iron and Calphalon are very heavy utensils btw. Look for deals in Bed Bath and Beyond and Kolhs.

I prefer hanrd anodized over the non sticks. When they wear off the non sticks can be injurious to health. Hard anodized is easy to cook in, easy to take care of. I got my set at costco for around 150 bucks and it has served me well for the past 4 years. the wear and tear of non-sticks is not existent in the hard anodized, plus I feel the tava fry veggies come out better in hard anodized as compared to non-stick. in india too, some of the pressure cookers are hard anodized now, which makes cleaning them a breeze!

I recommend the hard anodized set. Get the good quality ones from costco.

I use calphalon triply, cuisinart, kitchenaid (multi-clad) and farberware stainless steel pots/pans plus lodge logic cast iron griddle (tawa) and skillets for Indian cooking.

Cast iron once seasoned will last a lifetime and becomes naturally non-stick. I have been using this cast iron skillet for almost 5 years now they have somewhat become non-stick already.

Of all the stainless steel pots and pans, I love my cuisinart 3 QT casserole and farberware 2 QT saucepan. They are the ones that get used quite often in my kitchen.

Try out costco, their kirkland triply lines are best reviewed by america's test kitchen and so is tramontina tri-ply by sam's club and they don't cost an arm and leg (compared to other triply ones out there).

I got a Caphalon nonstick wok last year that is quite good for curries. Just don't put it on high...medium is max.

Don't forget to get a good rice cooker for pulaos/biryanis.
