    Pooja room should be in the northeast side of the house.

    Photos facing east and you sit facing north and do the pooja.
    This is the ideal position.

    @Teddy,

    Please dont keep the photos in the bedroom, even if no ones using it. You are better off keeping it in the Hall.

    @Lalitha,
    Curious to know how one can sit facing north when the photos face east!
    Wouldnt we be facing west, if the photos face east?

    Staar.

    Hi Staar,

    You should sit on side of the photos not in front of the photos. i.e on south side, then you face north. But i dnt have option to sit on south facing north. So I do pooja facing west only.

    Thanks StaarBearer,
    i am scared to keep it in the hall, coz we will be using that place offten, guests n other people will be coming and it wont be neat all the time na.. so im bit scared and thinking of sharing a seperate place for it.

    teddy, I don't know about vaasthu, but here are a couple of things that might help you -

    in my house, the God is in the Kitchen just because I love to offer a prayer before I get out of the house and keeping in the bedroom or any other room will defeat that purpose, for me (I always check the stove and other things before stepping out)

    also since my house is west facing, my temple is also west facing :) I have made a room in a cupboard and kept my mantapa there.

    Finally, go through this thread - it will help you make your decison. Chitra madam has given very good inputs. You are making place for God and I am sure she will be happy where you feel happy keeping her and offering prayers :)
