Today I had the opportunity of hearing Purandaradas Charitram by Vishaka Hari whom you all must be knowing very well. This one is a CD given by one Uncle and aunty for uncle’s 80th Birthday celebration along with a handbag with tha thambulam and murukku and laddu. What a wonderful return gift for us.

The above tittle was said by Vishaka Hari and not my own. How true it is God gives and forgives but we get so many things but we forget about it.

God has always shown me the right path and from childhood I have been interested in going for bhajans and listening Harikatha. I could learn so many things from Harikatha but followed only a few. Though I have heard the stories of great saints and about God I remember only somethings from them. I am not so good in narrating what I have heard whereas my husband can remember what he had heard 25 years back also and can narrate everything in detail.

Yesterday I had gone for Narayaneeyam . After 51 chapters was over lunch wasthere. Since I cant sit down and they keep only 6 chairs and tables only for those who have some problem, all others sit on the ground, I was wondering whether I will get to sit in the first round as I was feeling hungry. When I went to the first floor where they were serving lunch I saw that their chairs were already occupied , but luckily one friend of my husband who has become close to me also due to Koduvayur trip told me to go to the second floor where they were serving for some important people. Though I was going to the second floor I was thinking whether anyone will say anything. But noone said anything and I had lunch before the others who were sitting down must have just started . I was thinking God is great and he gave me the chance to have lunch immediately , thanked God for showring his blessings. When I told my husband that I have God’s blessings he was saying God is in our Athma only. He has pure thinking that’s why he told like that.
He does not expect anything from anyone and may not spend money but is always ready to help in serving humanity.

I always remember the things people have given me, one aunty helped me to put me in a Convent School with out any fees through which I got good eduction, my best friend helped in learning typing which helped me to become a Typist, my boss helped me to get a promotion as Stenographer, Vice President of our Company promoted me as Senior Assistant which post I must not have dreamt also as it involves accounting and I never knew accounting but because of him I learnt Bank Reconciliation and was handling the Bank Reconciliation of the whole Company. These people I can never forget in my life

In my post Though I repent…….. everyone has written nice things about me .

Soldier has written everything positive about me but she does not know the negatives I have

Even at this age I like to dress up though not too much but must look dignified and seeing me people should say Mahalakshmi madhiri irukka. I still like to eat, possess everything good which I think at this age must forget about owning anything and only think of God and ask for good health to live peacefully and not to trouble others. When I see some good jewellery or good sarees feel like owning them. Even yesterday one woman was selling artifial pavaza necklace which I bought immediately and some women liked it also very much.

Oj da has also praised me a lot saying there is so much to learn from me and he thinks I am a good teacher, he has written that I have seen God , though I am waiting to see God, one day I am sure I will see Him, now I see God in everyone. All my A-Z friends think so much highly of me. I wish that I continue to be my own self and not change anytime.

I thank Cheeniya Sir, Mindi, Meera, Shiva, Sudha, Sara, Meenu, Lakshmi, Vijji, Nats, Jaya, Aruna,
Bhargavi, Amma, BeeAmma, Raji for writing hihg of me. Sorryif I have left out anyone.

    Dear, dear Vijima,

I am not surprised you quote Smt Vishaka Hari. You and Vishaka- you are kindred spirits- beautiful in sight, beautiful in soul. I am so touched by the title. Regardless of who coined it, thank you for bringing it to the attention of ILites like me.

I endorse what you write. God has indeed shown you the right path. And regardless of how much or how little you remember, you have followed the path faithfully. And in a lifetime, that is all that matters. God shows His kindness to us in so many ways. Making sure that you had food at the right time, was just one small example. That He also sends many others to help you in His mould and manner, just shows how much HE adores you.

I dont think any of the 'negatives' you have mentioned about yourself are really negative. It is fine to want to dress well regardless of age, stage, it is okay to want to possess fine jewellery or watch a movie, dine out. I think what matters is that we are honest atleast to ourselves about what we want and how we go about it. Very often, one sees persons lisping spirituality, love, Vedantha and then leading a fake life so contrary to what they preach in open. What matters is how we are in soul, and how God sees our mind in all its naturaly glory. This is a lesson that I am yet to learn and enforce fully.

More power to you, Vijima, and more power to your thoughts. As we say in Bombay, 'bindaas raho'!!

What a catchy yet true caption.
True many times people forget the good deeds received from others.
I too love Vishaka Hari's concert. Viji Aunty in november I had participated in a thread relating to Vishaka Hari - at that time there was not acquaintance between the two of us.
We had shared some information about her. Have heard her Thyagaraja Charitham, Andal Kalyanam, Sundara Kandam etc. and experience the feeling of ecstasy.

U know she is as fluent in English Harikatha as she is in Tamil. I watched once on Shankara Channel.

One more thing - I remembered u yesterday while watching Asianet Devotional in the morning. The same person who lectures on Bhavatham is presently rendering Narayaneeyam I think in Mulund.

I have been wanting to hear him. In the morning hours it is very difficult when there is so much of kitchen work. Ayyo, :bonk Left to me I will keep on chatting a lot on these things Viji Aunty. Now u tell me where we can discuss about devotional songs / spiritual topics. Don't point out the forum to me. IL vandhaale onnula A-Z, illaatta Game with vowels, illaatta Poems or else Snippets. Athukkulla bed time. Morning I push off to office. When only can we discuss when there is so much to talk about. Am getting mad.:crazy

See I have gone off the tangent.

Forget those which u have termed as negatives. U have only picked up the usage. Dressing well and having things u like are ur birth rights. God or no one is is going tp be angry with you.
U r a sweet and lovely and affectionate person. As I often repeat in these threads Do good think good speak good - policy will take care of us for ever and closer to God.

Viji mami..........I liked the title so much.....yes, god gives us so much and also forgives when we stand in front of him and ask sorry........that is why he is GOD !!!

Man forgets very fast what he gets...........here I want to narrate my experience........I had a friend who conceived after many years and I used to go and give her what I have cooked.....hot from the stove but one fine day I am informed by anothe friend that I used to give her left overs..........from which time I have become so weary of moving with people in this part of the world........I was so hurt and it took me a long time to get over it......I am not asking anything in return from that person except dont go around saying all the wrong things about me.........anyways I always think this way "that up above God is there..seeing and listening to whatever is going on and he will take care since he ONLY/ALONE knows the truth other than me"...

    Hi Viji !
Thank you for sharing a wonderful pearl of wisdom , its no matter that you heard it from Visaka Hari. What's important is that you fully grasped the truth of that statement and in your charming, soothing way, you shared it with us.

You say you have not seen God and waiting to see him, but I can tell you that you have already embarked on your Journey to Realise him, without your realising it !

The weaknesses you have listed are not weakness at all ! Enjoying life , with the knowledge that everything good in it is His Prasada, is not a negative. Enjoying everything and being grateful for it will bring us closer to God than merely reading epics and mantras mindlessly. Spreading joy to others is the biggest thanksgiving to God and dear Viji, you are doing that abundantly !
    Love you !:cheers

    Dear Soldier

Thanks for your loving fb. I can understand your situation, for working people it is difficult to come here. Only after you finish everything you can come here. I am glad that your two posts which you have written here have got so many fbs. Write more wheneveryou get time. There is so much to learn from your fbs also. When I read your fbs and posts I cant believe that you are mother of two grown up children. I see you as a young girl only. Glad to know you remembered me. When you get time visit the other forums also. I also like to chat with you but you are short of time.

    love
