    Hi seetha,

It was many years ago when we visited Jaipur. I will give you the glimpses. We took the government tourism bus from Delhi and travelled for seven hours to reach there. Our first visit was to the Amber fort. Then we went to the jantar-mantar which is claimed to be larger than that in Delhi. The palaces and museums were not covered in the 1-day trip. The hawa mahal was shown from outside. However, there was a lot for shopping. A 2-day stay will be sufficient. There are many websites to advise you on the trip and if you plan much in advance regarding the order of visit taking into consideration the distance from the place of stay, a local transport is enough.

    Hi Seetha,

I would also recommend you to go and see the Albert Museum, also known as Central Museum in Jaipur.

Albert Hall Museum in Ram Niwas Bagh was built by Sawi Ram singh II in 1868 A.D as a famine relief project. Designed by Sir Swinton Jacob, this is modeled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

This museum is known for its appropriate use of marble as well as sandstone. The well preserved museum displays a vast collection of Indian arts and craft- handicraft, such as metal ware, ivory and woodcarving, jewellery, textiles, pottery, sculptures and paintings. it is particularly rich in brassware, for which Jaipur is famous.

I'm attaching a picture of the museum, but I tell you, this place is many times beautiful than lens can capture. Also the pigeons in front of the museum is a attraction in itself - something which reminds you of the flock of pigeons near the Gateway of India, in Mumbai

Very close to it is the Jaipur Zoo which has a fairly good number of rare species.

    Hope this helps.

    Happy Posting!

    Sonia

Go to Pushkar, one of the best places in Rajasthan. It is visited by around 5 lakh tourists every year..

for reservations i would recommend to book using online hotel booking websites
