    Hello Everybody...
Am back Whining again ofcourse... I had my second internal exam today... How many do i need to go through?? I screamed my lungs out today... And am sure next time the doctor puts his gloves i am going to pass out..

Ok my question is the Doctor said i am 70% effaced and cervix has not opened yet... Is there anything i can do so that the next time they check would be the last one???:hide:

Do i kind of sound stupid here?? Because I am Totally Freaking out right now... :bowdown

Please do respond to me :bonk am so done with this process.. why cannot they just do some scan and get over with it... And why does it hurt? It never hurt me when they did a pap smear at my first trimester..

Pavi,Priya Normally the internal exam starts from week 37 but my doc started from week 38 so it depends on doc also. It is painful even I was very scared reading the experience from many Ilites.
Pavi unfortunately there is nothing you can do to avoid the internal exam it will be done every week till you deliver :hide:. This is the only way doc can identify if you are dilating and the cervix is thinning out.

i used to freak out for internal for my first kid...but now for my second one, i was okay with it..bcos this is the only way doc can tell you how much u r dilated and howz ur cervix...this gives a reassurance....just look at it as a way of getting better updates abt ur LO...then u'll feel better...

    Pavi,

Cheer up girl. Forget about the pain of the internal exam... imagine your baby's smiling face.... You will be just fine. Be positive dear... few more days/weeks to go. :thumbsup

I had 16 hrs of labour, they did "n" number of internal exams during that time. I did not scream but I told myself " Guruvaayur appa kaapaathu" (Save me guruvaayur appa), once I told this bit loud... atonce, my Gyn. asked who is he/she and asked my husband what is she telling ???? :biglaugh:biglaugh:biglaugh From that moment, I controlled myself and started chanting to myself (silently). Hey, also chanting "Budhir balam-sloka on Aanjaneya" helps me a lot.

    With hugs...

I did not have an internal exam until I was in established labour. During labour also, I was examined only 4 times.

Thanks for that Gowri... I feel i was really selfish and did not think about the baby at all or even God during the Exam :bonk

I would definitely chant budhir balam...

thanks for putting some sense in to me!
