    Hi Mridsudha,

I do not give gripe water daily, but yes I give vidanga water (ayurvedic) which takes care of colic. Gripe water is not recommended these days by paeds. I just heard that since it contain grapes and fermentation takes place that's why its not recommended for infants these days. Mostly paeds suggest colic drops.

Even colic drops is given in acute cases else not needed.

Gripe water is unnecessary, could cause severe complications sometimes.i would suggest you discontinue that.

My mom told me that she used to give this to me and that it helps. I read here that it is not recommended, so have not given her even once.

I used to give it for my DD daily, when she was born .When I went to India many pediatrician suggested not to use it.Let the baby digest is food by itself.I discontinued after that ,I am not using it for my DS.

If he is not having too much of gas, i think you don't need to use it daily. My DD was colic ,so i was using it.My DS is not having that much,so not using it.

As poonam said, just give a burp that would work.

    Hi,

I was told by my doc not to give gripe water, he said if at all i want, he asked me to take it before his feed.
As Lee mentioned, I am also taking Vidanga water and it is really very effective, the gas gets cleared very soon for my LO and he is not crying of Colic, even i stopped giving him colic drops.

    Hi,

I have been giving Bonnisan on and off when she is crankly due to stomach pain right from 2nd month.....

In some way both me &hubby noticed it really pacifies the kid well in half an hour after taking in.
