Sign-up and Get a FREE 1 month Vonage is a good service provider for Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) services. This is basically the internet telephony type. Call clarity is very good within US & Canada and in the international calls. Using this type of phone service, you can call International countries like India using the international calling cards that you normally use like Reliance India Call or Airtel Call Home. Also, if you are frequent caller to your families back in India, you can buy a Vonage phone package giving your local address in the US, get a US phone number and you can install it in India. There are multiple deals available for Vonage. Some are available only online and some you have to call a 1-800 number. The latest I got is $9.95 for first 3 months for the PRemium package which $24.99 thereafter with no Activation fee( usually $29.99) and no instrument fee ($80 value). Now Vonage also added free international calling to 60+ countries including India. Yes...it is free calling to India any time with Vonage. The rate is $24.99 per month. see their website..

Now Vonage is not only free for 1st month, it gives you 2 months of service free if you refer me while registering for Vonage. I got it installed and threw away my current phone service who was charging $50+ for 1000 minutes of India calling.
