Expedia is my favourite online travel booking site mainly because of the ease of use of their site. A few tips

1. Create an account with the correct email address etc. They are reputed company and don't spam you. If you give this never used email address, it makes life complicated for you.
2. Input your frequent flier miles once so that it automatically adds that information to every ticket you purchase without you having to dig through that every time.
3. They also have a phone sales feature, which I recently used and the reps were pretty helpful and not pushy.

I have noticed always Expedia rates are relatively cheaper be it for tickets, hotels, car rentals or as a package. Additionally, they give some good rates when you try booking online than even calling their phone sales.

Before booking a ticket on Expedia, I also check Orbitz, Travelocity and Priceline - just to make sure:)
