| Blogging has taken over the world in a storm. It is an activity which started as an online journal, but it has slowly evolved into its present form, which is interaction with people who forma a society around the blogger and his/her blog. It is tremendously addictive, and as a blogger I can tell you that my day starts with checking for comments to something I have written, I check if someone has linked back to me, follow the link to find out more and then I start thinking of writing more and reading other blogs. I also respond to each and every comment on my blog. I also check the number of hits my blog has got. This is true for each and every person who blogs regularly. The Indian blogosphere started off shakily, with techie geek-speak barely intelligible to people who were not familiar with tech-speak, highly personal ramblings of teenagers, online journals of food recipes, and it is now peopled by writers professional and otherwise, who put up highly readable and well thought out posts, some of them highly controversial which give rise to stimulating discussions in the comments section. The Indian blogosphere is an exciting place today with blog meets, blog awards, blog competitions, rankings and blog directories. One of the leading blog directories is www.BlogAdda.com that provides Indian bloggers a platform to showcase their blogs. It is easy to navigate, with a wonderful web2.0 design, which as I learnt recently has worn many design awards. A number of interesting bloggers are members of BlogAdda, and I visit the site frequently hunting for the best blogs to read. They have started many innovative features, one of them being their interviews with popular bloggers which has showcased many bloggers. I was interviewed by them (my blog), and I can assure you that the traffic my blog received was immense. I was truly inspired to out-do myself. They also have bi-weekly picks, the Tangy Tuesday Pick and the Spicy Saturday Pick where the best blogposts from Indian blogosphere are featured. Their recent innovative idea http://indianelections.blogadda.com actually changed the way I would look at and experience the election and the declaration of the result. I truly felt as though I was a part of something huge, and it was a heady feeling. Moreover, I realized that I am not alone in appreciating their election coverage. Just after the Indian elections it’s live coverage was featured on BBC. Just check the coverage at this link http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8050612.stm I am addicted to Twitter, and http://iplt20.blogadda.com which is focused on providing online readers with up-to-date information from the Social Media on a single page with conversations happening in the Blogosphere, Twitter, Flickr and Youtube videos is simply thrilling. Real-time media like the Hindustan Times, Mint and DNA have written great reviews about the site. I think that as a blogger, becoming a member of http://www.blogadda.com and submitting my blog there has been a favor I have done to myself. As every blogger knows, we do not exist in a vacuum. Blogs need to be read, and commented upon. Blogs need a readership. BlogAdda helps us get that all important readership. | ||||||

| Thanks for the helpful link to blogadda and to your blog! It is true, in spite on consoling ourselves that it is just an online journal, all blogs need readership which motivates the writer to pen down the experiences enthusiastically. Blogadda is definitely doing a nice job bringing traffic to the sites and I like their blogger interviews..really one of a kind! |
