    Hi sruthi,
I bought pavade pieces in Bangalore itself. These are Kangeevaram Pattu pavade pieces. In Bangalore there are many Kanchi co- ops.The third blouse piece was a gift .The blue pavade did not have the blouse piece along with it like the other two pieces. So I made use of it.I did not want to waste material so I made sleeves.I too wanted to stitch one sleeveless blouse

    Dear Artvani Ma'm

I thank you so much for the reason that you took my simple suggestion in the right way and not as a critic. I also admire your idea of cutting / joining at the back instead of at sides. Very good. Also I could not see any tuck, may be you added close to the border invisible from outside with two/three not very broad tucks which can be adjusted as and when the child grows.

I understand the reason for your selecting the white bodice, of course which is very common. When I stitched pattu and other pavadais for my DD when she was a kid, I used to buy the matching color of the pavadai for bodice which I remembered when I saw yours.

Your pavadais are very very beautiful, there is no second thought on that. Reg. 3 in nos. I can understand your feelings and the reasons for that.

In my family we are 4 daughters to my parents no sons, and all daughters have daughters also with 1 son for 1 sister.. so there are more girls in our family and less boys. You said a girl child is born after 22 years means something you all must be gifted by God after a long wait. A Girl is a Maha Lakshmi and she must be very lucky to have born in your household.

Cheers and Happy Pongal / Makara Sankaranthi to you Vani Ma'm.

    Shanti

    Hi Shanthi
I wish you a happy Sanktanthi. In the skirt there is one big tuck with 2 parallel lines. On the top there is one tuck which will be covered by the blouse. There is one more tuck in the bodice.Child lives in Australia.I do not know how often the child gets the opportunity to wear!
