    Dear IL-ites,

    August bids adieu testing your knowledge in Indian History and September is here     to test your passion towards painting... This is sure to interest all the Environment Lovers out there !!

    World Ozone Day is celebrated every year on 16th September since 1995.

     Continuous depletion of ozone layer led to global warming which in turn triggers abrupt climate change all over the world ! Tsunami attack in Japan, recent storm surge in New york city shows the disastrous effect of global warming.

    The contest for the month of September 2011 is

    World Ozone Day Special - T-shirt Painting Contest
    Movies like The Day after Tomorrow, The perfect Storm depict the natural disasters that could happen. What if we are on the brink of a new world??? no!.gif

     So how would you spread the awareness? Here’s a painting contest for you all !! But you are not going to use paper.

    How to Participate in this Contest?

    • Get a T-shirt of your favorite color and design it using fabric colors.
    • The theme should be ‘Protecting ozone layer’
    • Post the picture of your painted T-shirt as an attachment in this thread.
    Contest starts today - September 1st, 2011
     Contest ends on September 25th, 2011

    Points to note:

    • An IL-ite can post only 1 entry.
    • Entries should be posted only in this thread for it to qualify for the contest.
    • Best T-shirt Painting will be selected by the panel of Judges.
    • Entries posted in this thread during the contest period - Sep - 1st to Sep - 25th will only be considered for the contest.
    Ladies, what are you all waiting for...go ahead and pick up a nice tee, paint it and gift it to your kids.

    Hello All,

    Please find my entry for the World Ozone Day Special contest. I used IL t-shirt for the contest. Now my DS can spread the name of IL as well as create an awareness about World Ozone Day.

    This is how the story goes...

    Earth frustrated with global warming, ozone depletion and walked out of the planetary system and found the garden of Eden (for namesake) to take a small nap..

    In the Earth picture, I thought of showing the natural disasters. Hence tornado in South America and Volcano (My DS told it looked like spider) and Tsunami attack in Africa.

    Hi Friends,
    Here is my entry.. My painting shows the hot earth due to global warming because of ozone depletion. I assumed the umbrella as ozone with hole. My sad earth with hand on face is requesting all of us to save ozone.
