Workplace Gossip After Separation

Dearest Lightsource,

Big hugs to you for whatever that you've gone through.

Don't feel bad about what you have informed your office colleagues on your marital status.

You have entered into an unfamiliar place, meeting unfamiliar people. So it's only natural if you don't feel like telling them the truth about your marital status. In fact, I would go on to say that you have no obligation to tell anyone about your marital status. This is an office, a working place. You only need to be truthful about your work.

What, when and to whom you want to talk to about your personal life, is entirely up to you. If you feel uncomfortable telling them the truth now, then don't say it. Take your time to get to know them and if one day, you feel that you have gained the confidence to open up to some of your friends about this issue, then tell them. Just like how i understood your need to hide the truth about your marital status, I'm very sure that your friends to will understand the same and be supportive of you at that time.
