You have not mentioned the eye problem you have. But no matter what it is, unless it is a deficiency disorder eating fish/any specific food will not help.

I had spects but then did lasik surgery. My husband also has power upto +10. We both have powers since childhood. Hence I am worried that my child should not have any eye problem. Will eating fish help in any way?

There are many options for vegetarians too. E.g. soaked almonds to be peeled n consumed in the morning.
Why unnecessarily change from being vegetarian to being a nonvegetarian.....? Better follow the diet which you get by ahimsa rather than make your stomach a graveyard.
Almost everyone in Kolkata eat fish and so many...so many wears spects. Had eating fish saves one from wearing glasses..these people would have had the most perfect eyesight.

Eating lots of green vegetable and eye exercise may help. If both parents have eye problem, the child is likely to develop the eye problem irrespective of what he or she eats. Genes to be blamed. The best person to suggest you to be proactive is an eye specialist.

OP, do you realize that you posted this in the "Stories (Fiction)" section? You might get better feedback if you post in one of the forums here or here. Ask an IL moderator to move this thread for you!

As for your question, it is difficult to get too specific unless the underlying causes of your poor vision (and that of your husband's) are known. Focusing for the moment on nutrition, Vitamin A deficiency is a leading cause of blindness, poor night vision and other vision deficiencies, especially in developing countries. You must ensure that you and your baby get enough. However, excess intake can cause problems as well. Do NOT overdo anything. So, it's best if you consult your physician about pregnancy nutrition. She will recommend an appropriate diet combined with prenatal supplements you can take (e.g. folic acid to prevent spinal abnormalities) and the correct dosing, to redress any deficiencies. Taken together, a healthy diet and necessary supplements will greatly increase your chances of having a healthy baby.

Here are some authoritative links to get you started, but once you are better informed, go talk to your physician before taking any supplements or making drastic changes to your diet.

    Good Luck with the baby!
