    Great Message

    Dear Mrs.Chitra,

The article on Namaskaram was really eye opening. . These kind of messages remind me time and again who is the Supreme Being and continously work on self development. I tell you from the bottom of my heart it is really humbling to know you are so wise and knowledgeable but still very humble. Thank you for setting a great example . Its worth following.

    Love

    My dear Shobana !

I am very happy to read your F B . Please do not praise me at all. I should thank everyone of you for encouraging me with such beautiful F B s on the very day I post the topic !
It is my earnest wish that we should all realise the beauty & depth of our culture. It is understanding the significance which makes, what we do, meaningful.
Please continue with me, my dear friend.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitra,

Another very well written piece. i didn't know why women do panchanga namaskaram, but you clarified. In our culture, for whatever we practice there is some meaning behind and if we know the meaning then we will enjoy practising it. Thank you very much.

    regards,
    surya.

    Thankyou, my dear Surya !

The Panchanga namaskaram only signifies, the respect given to women as the " creators of human beings".Is it not beautiful ? The depth ofour cultural customs is immeasurable.
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.

    Welcome Veenakannan !

I am happy that you enjoyed the article on namaskaram.
There are many more articles - please go to the index of culture thread & read them.
I am also an ardent fan of all parts of Arthamulla Hindu matham by Kannadsan. I use them for reference also.
    Thankyou for the feedback.
    Love,

    Dear Mrs Chitra,

Sometimes one wonders why one does what is told to them when they don't know the reasoning behind it...but to me, paying namaskaram or conveying respect always had more importance than anything else, although I did not know why! You've come up with such clear explanation of the different types of namaskaram and also the reasoning behind each of the ways! Loved reading the write-up!

I just love praying to God simply bcz at the end of it, I bow down to Him(twice every time...well again don't know why!!) !!

Please accept and convey my namaskaram to Mr V and to you too. You already know how much I love counting blessings, don't you? :))

    Dear Shal,
You are right, I know you to a "little extent", now through this site.
Now, I find youngsters refusing to do namaskaram, without realising the concept behind it ! I think you are a less common breed, because you have always believed in it !
    Thankyou for the F B.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear chitvish
my daughters do ask me a basic question...christians go to church every sunday and muslims worship their God so many times in a day. why is'nt such a routine being taught to us from our childhood...though i do ask them to pray God every day after their bath and ask them to recite slokhas..why is such a thought arising in them..this is not to my daughters alone ..when i chat with their friends they too carry this feeling...they do ask me a question like why dont we do it mandatory ....and so on...
    kindly help me....
    lov

    My two cents, veenakannan,
Self-dicipline has to come from within & should not be forced on anybody.
Going to temple, I have always felt, is to discipline yourself. At the same time, it should not become an addiction also, making us scared that evil will befall if we fail to go one particular week. Not only that, it does mean a little socialising ( this cannot be denied at all!), a little exercise etc. So, I personally feel, one should not be forced to undertake it as a ritual, but should be able to enjoy it for its own sake.
It is best to leave a few things to each individual child's rhythm. I strongly believe in it. Let it be an enjoyable pursuit, but not a forced action or an obsession.
    Love,
    Chithra.
