why 60 m kalyanam is performed for old couples... what are the spiritual benefits they attain by doing that.. whats children's part in that.
I think it is considered to help increase their lifespan to pray for a better health and live long may be even see their gran children's children. The children are supposed to be conducting the same firstly they missed seeing their parents wedding ( obv reasons ) . Also the kids def too want to receive the blessings of others and god to keep their parents healthy. I think it's also way to show that since their parents successfully conducted their wedding the kids are doing the same . Re marriage of sorts ( though the groom and bride are the same ) . Lastly it's a great occasion to meet and greet!!.... Family get together who has time in today's world for such occasions. This is what I know .. I am sure there are veterans who have a better reply.
