Whole Milk or Formula after 12 months?

My DS is going to be 12 months soon.. should I start my DS on whole milk or continue the formula?

I have a pediatrician's visit coming up in 2 weeks. Just wanted to know what did other moms do?
How did the transition go? Did your infant accept Whole milk? Any milk allergy that I need to keep an eye on?
    Any input will be appreciated.

Will give you the conversation we had with pediatrician at 12 months:
Doc: she can have whole milk now
    Me: can we continue formula?
Doc: don't worry, she can have whole milk
Me: anything wrong in continuing formula?
Doc: nothing wrong, but it's of no value add. Formula will cost much more than whole milk without any additional value to baby. She needs whole milk now.
    Me: oh great.

We noticed that daughter liked whole milk better than formula.

I'd stay with the formula, its complete with protein, vitamins/minerals, dha, and lecithin. I didn't have to worry about multivitamins and fish oils when my kids were on it.

We switched to cows milk. The doc said formula was not required anymore. Its a different story that now we have a war to gulp that milk down :(

Formula milk for most part of the day..
You can start with little or just one time whole milk in the whole of the day..

@vaidehi71- Thanks for the link. Really appreciate it.
@momsky- It's a good point. Not worrying about multivitamins... I remember you saying you used Enfamil too. Did you use Enfagrow ? How long did you use Enfagrow? When did you transition to whole milk?
@Rajkum846- Thanks for sharing your experience.
@dnormx01- :tearsofjoy: Your comment brought back memories. Quite awhile ago I used to dread breakfast time coz I had to drink milk. My mother used to tell stories about Ashwatthama and make me feel guilty.
@dc24-Thanks for sharing. How did your LO adapt to the whole milk?

Right now I am feeding curd rice once in awhile. Apart from curd rice my DS hasn't eaten any milk products. He didn't favor payasam/kheer.
So.. I am kinda dreading this transition to whole milk... IF my Pediatrician says whole milk route... what do I do? should I suggest or ask her why not formula?

Yes, I used Enfagrow 3. Except for the eldest, I was using Enfamil A+ for the two younger ones 'til around 2 years old, then switched to Enfagrow 3. My two boys were on it 'til they were about 5 or 6, they prefer Milo nowadays. My 8 year old daughter still drinks it but with whole milk for her breakfast since she prefers vanilla milk over chocolate.

I don't exactly remember the transition time from Enfagrow to regular milk... I started giving them badam milk when they around 3, sometimes just plain milk when i ran out of Enfagrow
