So Harini is trying to find the card for Sri in the stack and she could not find it and Dev asked her to give it to Sri to find out ? and Dev found it out?? .. Who found the card Dev or Sri?

Btw will there be a scene where Jai has to choose Dev or Sri for some designation later ( naturally jai wont opt Sri)? I have a gut feeling someday there might be a issue bet theese two.

Yeah she gave the cards to Sri and Dev found it from Sri's hand. I went back to the episode and realised I haven't mentioned this properly. Thanks for pointing out. Have a great day.

Chapter-1

Harini

I was too excited to sleep that night. Tomorrow begins my career. It felt like a dream when I was campus selected by the company, more surprised when I realized I was the only student to be selected by the company from my college.

‘Not sleeping yet?’ asked my sister Nandini who was studying in the corner of the room.

‘Couldn’t sleep. Will go outside and sit for sometime.’ I said getting up from the mat.

‘No Hari. Appa has just reached.’ Nandini stopped me.

My father is a construction laborer and most of his daily wages are spent on liquor. Added to that is the abuse he inflict on mother physically, verbally. I often asked her, how you are tolerating the man’s behaviour. Mom used to give a dry smile.

I know the truth. My mother eloped from her home to get married to father. He acted as a gentle man during initial years of marriage. My mother completed graduation and got a job as stores admin. That time he lost his job due to accident. Idleness brought out the demon in him, who got addicted to drinking and started abusing my mother. At the moment I could hear my father abusing mother.

‘Don’t go out Hari.’ Nandini said stopping me.

I ignored my sister’s words and came out of the small room.

What I witnessed is something familiar. My father lying drunk in hall, oblivious to the surroundings, hurling abuses at mother and my mother silently crying in corner. I could hear neighbors closing the windows. This is not uncommon in the area, men getting drunk and women bearing all the brunt of bringing up the family.

‘Stop crying and come inside the room ma.’ I ordered.

I’m not afraid of my father and used to protect mother when he abuses her. One time I went and filed a police complaint. But police couldn’t do much controlling drunkards like my father. From the time I understood my father’s behavior, I never spoke with him or cared about him. The only persons in the world I care for is my mother and sister.

My mother wept in the room. Nandini closed her books and consoled her.

‘Stop it Nandu. She knows what she is doing and he knows what he is doing. None of them are going to change.’ I said in anger.

I don’t know why persons like my mother choose to stay in abuse despite they can do well financially, emotionally without him. It’s not that my mother is earning well, she was making just enough to make ends meet. But my father had zero contribution towards family and that’s what irks me.

I don’t know when I slept, but when I woke up, I could smell my mother cooking something good.

Ufff..It’s seven. I have to start in an hour. I have kept everything ready previous night. I found my father sleeping in the hall despite the neighbourhood noises.

We shared a common bathroom with other family and if I’m is lucky, it might be empty now. I had a quick bath and when I came back to room to adjust my dress, my mom gave me a cover.

‘Wear this Harini. I got it for you yesterday.’ It was a baby pink salwar.

‘Thanks ma..’ I kissed her.

‘Oh Hari.You look beautiful.’ Nandini said.

I looked at the mirror. I felt I have taken up my mother in the beauty department. After gulping few idlies and tea, I was ready for office.

‘Go to temple, before boarding the bus.’ My mom advised. That was my plan too.

When I reached the temple, I could see a car stopping before me and that idiotic person in the car just opened the door without noticing who is coming behind.

‘Ooops..I’m sorry.’ He said. He appeared tall and dressed in formals.

‘Idiot..’ I mumbled and went inside the temple. I didn’t want to start fight today.

I noticed a well dressed woman coming inside the temple. I want to get mother sarees like this. I looked at the woman, she was looking pretty and smiling broadly. Guess when you are rich, you are naturally happy.

I took the bus and reached the office well in time. It looked like today a huge batch of people were joining the company. I could see other girls forming friendships and it looked like many were from same college as well.

Suddenly I saw the person who hit me with car door ,standing in front of me!
