Which place to choose for a 3 day outing?

Hi all

I am working in singapore(since 4.5 months) and my DH is planning to come here for 2 weeks in the month of august...I would like to go with him to some place(preferably romantic-calm peaceful with good pleasant climate) for 3 days outside singapore

Since we have national holidays on the 8th and 9th of August,i am planning to bring him here a day before that..but i am really not sure what plans my office has here,whether it would really be a holiday:bonk...and also i feel since its a long weekend,there would be too much rush whereever we go and i feel everything would be too pricey

so ladies please help me with your suggestions...
(1)I am not looking for a very costly vacation spot but a calm place with pleasant climate where i can spend some quality time with my DH
(2)My plan is for 3 days...fri/mon along with a weekend
(3)Please suggest the list of countries which we should actually not miss seeing,being in singapore and which i can finish within 3 days...and the possible temperature in that place during august
(4)It would be great if you could suggest me the approxiate cost for 2 people as well
(5)Am i right in taking the decision of not taking the vacation in those 4 days(8th,9th,10th,11th august)???...as of now,if my hubby comes before 8th and everything goes fine in office,i am planning to roam in singapore only
(6)i dont want to travel long distance from singapore
(7)My hubby is not too very into(is ok) adventurous stuffs/theme parks,so those places could be avoided
(8)Not planning to go to malaysia(KL)...if there are too very romantic/lovely places there,i am ok...else,i dont intend to go to malaysia
(9)this is like the first time we are taking a vacation abroad..so please suggest some memorable locations
