Women are known for investing to save and safeguard for the future of family and kids. Though men do it, mostly they execute it while the brains behind it are women. Hope you all agree [IMG]

Ok, let us take a poll this week about investing.

I'm sure this would enable everyone to share and understand the investment ideas and opportunities.

Nowadays, women too want to invest in property like house/land.
Though there is still a liking to buy lots of jewels, I don't think women want to lock on jewellery a lot.

Share / Stocks - I am not sure about the majority women. But atleast to me this has always been a puzzle :?

After hearing that a lot of people made good money on the stock market for the last 2-years, I am trying to keep a portion of my savings in stocks.

I don't keep all my savings in stock. I spread them out and allocate a portion to investing in stocks.

Only time will tell whether I saved wisely :)

House. This is the only investment that don't go down in value. Instead of waiting to buy a grand big house, we have invested in two small flats. They have appreciated nominally and we are earning decents rents from it. When we go back to India, we plan to sell both the flats and buy a good size house and settle. Lets see..

I think these days house/land is a perfect investment.

We recently got a loan back in India (better rates available for NRIs :) ) and purchased a flat in Calcutta. We have rented it out. The rent pays the loan interest and it's no hassle.

These days banks are giving very less interest that does not attract savings in the form of deposits. :-(

    Hi,

Interesting poll. I came across this information in a magazine. India saves more Gold that any other country in the world. That includes even countries like USA, Japan and other rich countries!

I don't think that people invest in one OR the other. They will have investments in possibly all of the above. I voted based on where I have most of my savings in.

    Hi,

My first vote was for property - house / land.
But if given another chance, I would vote for jewellery.

Yeah...I have a daughter [IMG] So I would prefer gradually saving on jewels for her wedding.

My vote is for bank deposits. Though I would prefer to invest on a house, not got that much money and do not want to increase debts going for loan.

Nila, I agree bank interests are not too great. But it is the safest way of depositing, I believe.
