    Hi all,

We moved to a new apt and i'm a loss to decide where to keep the puja room.. There are closets in the hall but are facing the bath room.. so they are out of question.

I tried keeping in kitchen but the shelves are really small and if i light the lamp in them they looks like they might be a hazard. Plus i also make non veg at home and am really uncomfortable with all the smells that will linger around the god photos..

Bed room is big but again we cant keep the puja room there.

If i decide to keep in hall .. i'm not sure which kind of shelf i need to buy..
open or closed and something which will hold up nicely in the carpet.

Please tell ladies how have you created your puja rooms in US apartments?????

Dining room or hall is fine, all you need is a table, You can buy cheap book case /cabinet from Walmart/Ikea/Target and put murty/photos of Gods/Goddesses on them and use the shelves for the pooja item storage

We keep our pooja room in the dining area. We do wish we had a different place but for now it works, this is one reason I am looking forward to purchasing a house.

I have changed to ' electric lamp's ' after seeing the news about fire from candle. I keep the traditional lamp on auspicious days only. With electric lamps we can even keep inside kitchen cabinet or even the cabinet in walkway.

If u dont have kids around , u can arrange on a small table in a corner of hall....If u have, u can buy a small shelf that can be fixed to wall...I am afraid of my kid and bought a shelf at Target that can be fixed at certain height....U can cover those drilling holes with wall color paste, that u can get at Target or Walmart....
