For used furniture why don't u try Craigslist and u can also try at Cort furniture. Last week they had tent sale at cort, but Iam not sure if they are done by now.

By the way in your last thread (american guest lunch), you had mentioned Rose milk, I somehow saw that post late and was wondering how you made it. Can you let me know that when ever you are free.

Since I am the nearest to you:crazy,this is where I go...

1.Grocery- Kroger,Walmart...off late,Kroger milk has become expensive,otherwise,actually I find Giant Eagle and Meijer more expensive.But the Meijer on Polaris Parkway has a good variety.

2. Indian Food-India Grocers on Sawmill,also Bombay Bazaar on Lazelle( the one I told you about already)

3.Clothes- Sears,Kohls,for kids Walmart is enough for regular wear.

4. Meat-No clue

5. Salon-No idea either,I just trim my hair occasionally,for that-great clips next to Kroger is good enough.

6. Alterations-no clue either

I too saw the tent put up at Cort's,it is on Sancus Blvd,check it out for used/rental furniture.

 

Beetroot you will find in meijer too.But a bunch is little bit expensive.

 

Supriya,compared to Kroger ,I find Meijer reasonable.Usually they give a weekly ad in the store. If you look at it you can co- ordinate veg shopping,Diary according to the sale they have. I have done that when i as in OH. I initially used to buy veg and diary from Kroger. My monthly grocery shopping apart from Indian store shopping used to end up to 100 dollars a month.Then I got a weekly ad in mail from Meijer and used to visit there. My monthly bill came down to 60/ month.
Beets are available in Meijer at a very reasonable rate.Good luck.

Grocery/dairy products- Meijer,Walmart,Kroger[a bit expensive compared to other two].You can get beetroot also.Every friday just chk the local ads at meijer's website which will be helpful.

Indian food/vegetables-We used to buy some veg from here like tindora,bhendi etc... You can find many indian vegetables in meijer,walmart etc.....There is a Srilankan store Ideal Super market at Godown road[i dont know how far it will be for you]

Clothes:Many are there.Kohls,JCPenny,Sears.Walmart,Meijer also have clothes sections.

Meat: We are vegetarians.But i have seen Halal meat store at Godown road near the srilankan store.

Entertainment: Chk malls you can find it.

Ladies beuty parlour:Some friends are going at Sawmill road.

Indian tailoring: No idea

You can go through the craiglist where you can find used furnitures.

Indian food/veg: You can find many indian veg in Walmart,Meijer.You will get big bags of onio,aloo,carrot,palak,apple etc at Sams club. The veg like tindoora,bhendi,small kathrikkai[bhaigan] and paratas,maggi you can get at indian store,patel,ideal.

Clothes: Kohls,JCPenney,Macy's,Sears,Walmart,Meijer. Shoulder bags,sandals,shoes,electronics are also available.

Meat: We are vegeterians. But i saw Halal meat store at godown road near the ideal super market.they can find in walmart,meijer also

Entertainment: Kohls....

Ladies beauty parlour:Some friends are going at Sawmill road.

Indian tailoring: no idea

You can find used furnitures,sofa sets in craiglist.
