Congratulations @sanjuruby3 on your sister's marriage!

As already suggested by others Honeymoon package would be apt.

Also as a token of love and memories, you can make an album of pictures right from her childhood till now(all your happy/funny moments together)...with a few words/tags from your heart for each of them.
Believe me, she will treasure it the most! :)

Best wishes for the couple to-be. if it is convenient, discover grooms taste and distaste(?) and then decide what he likes for his fiancée! this idea could be unique tad impractical too, yet it may turn out fantastic everlasting and would stay green in every body's memory. thanks and regret for butting in. with apologies

Nothing can beat jewelry. Gold jewelery or silver pooja items will also a good option

Don't give cash , it gets used and there won't be anything left to show that it is given by a
Sis. Either buy good jewelry or some household item which is going to be useful in long run

My sister is young and fashionable and like most girls at her age, she loves everything that makes her look pretty ;-) them movies, out and eating out.
Then outside that, pooja items, she is religious but wedding gift may not hold that value for her.
Now makeup, dresses, nail paints, perfumes ,handbags I have given her numerous times so I was fed up this time. But I guess for wedding this is the right and safe gift.

Another thing, I had my brothers wedding couple yrs back and I was asking Honeymoon pkg as wedding gift to people and everyone suggested no. Also if I gift that to my sis, my brother is not going to like it. I know both of them. Morever, my sisters H is planning honeymoon already. So I think some gold jewellary may b.
Then those small gifts, make up, perfumes for couple, i am taking that.

I dont know what you can take from US other than perfumes, watches, bags..
If your budget is big, you may consider buying her jewelry, for example bangle set, or necklace &ear ring set (from India) or you can sponsor her wedding dress.

Sponsering wedding dress is nice idea. I will check. BTw, Wedding dress in India are too expensive now a days and there is no limit.

Fashionable girls like to buy their own fashion. Ur makeup products are not worth it now. Wedding dress is usually sponsored by either guy parents or girl parents. So, leave it to parents.. honeymoon pkg.. nah.. until u understand the dynamics of guy and his family stay away from it.
I would say, FD the amt and gift it or sponser her bridal makeup package or buy gold jewellery.

Any estimates? I know its personal but can i dare to ask how much would you guys give or have given to sis marriage?
iphone to sis can it be a gift? will i have to buy for both. I am buying cosmetics for bridal makeup package but not as a gift. So I am buying mix/match of cosmetics, not all expensive brands. Mostly super store + couple expensive things.
In past, i have given her lot of cosmetics/perfumes which is still there, most unused but thats not I am counting for bridal.

Sanjuruby- whatever you can afford and also equivalent to (at least somewhat) what you spent on your brother's wedding.

Two of my nephews recently got married (both in early, mid 20s) and I gave them very different wedding presents but kept the monetary value almost equal. For my first nephew, I gave a gold chain and pendant to his wife and hotel for three nights when they visited India (I asked them if they wanted me to book a hotel for them or give cash to spend, they chose hotel). For my second nephew, I bought diamond earrings for his wife and gave 10k rs cash.

I also have some little presents like nice boxes of Godiva chocolate, perfume, and a handbag to my second nephew's wife and a cashmere scarf and ethnic Indian dress (salwar kameez) to my first nephew's wife since she is a European and loves getting Indian stuff.

Hope it helps! My budget was $1000 each
