    Salad is an assortment of raw or cooked vegetables seasoned with a specific seasoning and accomplished with other ingredients. A Salad can be enjoyed as an appetizer or sometimes as a meal. When having salad as a meal, it should have the specific proportions of ingredients.
    A salad is made in different layers. This depends on our personal interest but generally a typical salad contains these ingredients to balance a meal. You can always change the sources and play with them.
    1. Base: 50% by volume of the salad should contain leafy greens . This can be also be substituted with potatoes, pasta, veggie noodles etc.,
    2. Vegetables and fruits: 25% of the salad should contain vegetables and (or) fruits. They can be steamed, roasted, boiled, sundried or pickled.
    3. Protein source: You can add proteins from different sources like cheese, nuts, meat etc.,
    4. Toppings: You can add 1-2 tablespoons of toppings to boost the taste and texture of the salad. They can be olives, roasted nuts or seeds, pickled veggies etc.,
    5. Fresh or dried herbs (Optional): this is an optional but adding fresh herbs like cilantro, basil, oregano, thyme, dill etc., enhances the flavour and taste to the salad.
    6. Dressing and spices: There are many types of dressings and in general classified into Oily, Creamy, Pesto.

    Ensure that leaves are clean and dry to avoid food poisoning. Once all the ingredients are ready the contents need to be mixed properly. Use salad spinner or toss the salad in bowl. Salads are easy to prepare and does not involve laborious cooking procedures.

    Cucumber + beetroot + carrot + Spinach leaves + Tomato + Onion + Capsicum + Lots of lemon juice + Salt + Crushed Black pepper .. Yumm in taste.

    Boiled rajma (Kidney beans) + Chickpeas + Black Chana

    Add Onion + Tomato+ Corriander + lemon + Bit of Cucumber + Green chillies

    Thats what we get in office..

    replace beans with Sprouts for another variation.

    Add as many raw chopped vegetables as possible.

    Thank you for sharing this recipe thought I’d share my classic salad recipe too.
    I have a slightly different take on a classic Caesar salad.
    Ingredients:
    Lettuce- half
    Meat/paneer (tossed in olive oil and garlic) - 25gms
    Cherry Tomatoes -15
    Paprika- 1tbsp
    Oregano- 1 tbsp
    Thyme (for flavour) -1 part fresh half part dried
    Apple cider Vinegar -2 tbsp
    Go cheese wedges -3
    Method: Just add these ingredients in a bog bowl add some Olive oil and garnish with cheese, I use Go cheese wedges as they can be crumbled and added on top, plus it tastes amazing. Apple cider vinegar ads a punch.

    Lovely salad recipe! Remember to always use fresh ingredients from the market rather than processed ones. Also avoid using too much oil or salad dressing since it will increase the fat content and affect the nutritional value of the salad.

    Salads are not definitely not just lettuce, tomatoes and other rabbit foods. You can make a salad quite exciting by adding various proteins, veggies, cheese, fruits, nuts, seeds and more. One of them is vegetarian as well.
